The summer months in Vegas are really slow. It's way to hot here and there are not alot of conventions. I would just stay where you're at or go to Florida.

The cons do slow down in summer, but there are a few exceptions if you want to come to LV for a short visit. There is an excelent calendar of conventions in LV at
    http://www.lvcva.com/meetings/convention-calendar.jsp

A couple that popped out at me that should be good...

Comp Associates International (strats on 4/26). This isn't the 100,000+ person blowout that "CA World" is but a slightly more focused CA show (still 11K people). That said, the show is full of sales people with clients to take around and pretty fat expense accounts for entertainment. We have a group of 40- 60 folks doing VIP/bottle service at Tao on Wed alone and I'm sure SC biz will be up as well. (our company does nightclub stuff and stage shows all around LV on top of the SC work we do).

JCK show (starts 6/1). This is a higher end Jewelry focused trade show of 40K attendess. Got to figure the sales folks here also have big expense accounts!

A lot more on the list if you want to spend some time searching.

While Summer is certainly slower for conventions, if you are only planning on visiting for a week or so, you can use the convention planner to help you select a good time to schedule your visit.
