    Default The Tudors

Has anyone been watching this? It's on Showtime and stars Jonathan Rhys Meyers as King Henry VIII.

I'm such a big medieval/rennaissance/old royalty fan and this show is just blowing me away. Well scripted, great acting and a good way to learn some history. If you like intrigue, this is the show for you.

And oh, is he easy on the eyes.

    *swoon*

ETA: oops, screwed up. Please move to the Lounge. Thanks!

i never thought i'd be one of those douchbags who gets all "that was mine first" about a band.... let alone a person... but i have to admit i get a little jealous of all the attention he gets these days. lol i'm like "i've been a fan for over 10 years!.. i was there for you through killer tongue even!"

    *sniffle*

jrm is the only thing/person in the world that makes me feel like a retarded school girl with a crush. i have two artworks up on jrmfansite.org. i ordered a collection of clippings from japanese mags on ebay (this was years ago) because i couldn't get them here.

    *looks around*

i mean... uhhh... I WATCH THAT SHOW TOO! i even...umm... rented the first 3 episodes from blockbuster online when they had them early (exclusive).

    *cough*

To be honest, I'd never really heard of him till recently. Although I did catch him in that Elvis movie and that was a blatant miscasting.

And I probably wouldn't look at him in anything else either. It's just the medieval garb that drives me up a wall. Can't believe I like guys in tights!!

I freaking love this show. I'm a big fan of Tudor and Elizbethean history.

As for JRM....I'd lose my head for him! Yummy!

So am I Susan! Did you happen to watch Elizabeth I with Helen Mirren? I thought it was fabulous!

I heard that...but being a diehard Elvis fan, I couldn't wrap myself around it.

BTW, does JRM have an English accent normally? Where is he from?

Oh, he's Irish? Lovely! I'm a sucker for Irish guys. My maiden name is extremely Irish. There's even a song named after us!

OK, now for those of you who are watching this and know the history...

Does it bug you that there are a lot of historical inaccuracies?

I like my history pure. There was plenty of intrigue back then without going "Hollywood" on us.
