    Default Omega-3 "organic" eggs

I've started buying these, after interviewing a guy from the egg industry who went on and on about the health benefits and whatnot.

What do you think? First, are they healthier than conventional eggs? Second, do you find they taste any different, better? (I can't taste a difference, but my senses are pretty dull in the mornings and so I'm not a good judge.)

We get them too. I want to cut down on added hormones and toxic farming practices in as many simple ways as I can. I still eat all kinds of things when I go out to eat, so I figure I should at least make an effort when I grocery shop.

thats so funny that you mentioned this.i got into a little argument with my friend about which eggs to get. The organic omega 3 brown eggs were $2 more than the regular white non-organic eggs (hormones and all). I prefer brown eggs anyways; they seem more "pure" to me, lol. Its the same mentality with white sugar or raw brown sugar.

So do they taste better? Because I know I'm buying organic and it hasnt been robbed of its nutrients, it does taste better to me.

I like brown eggs too, not sure why. Technically, shouldn't they taste the same?

I just bought these eggs for the first time. I can't tell the difference, but I'm sure they are better for you. I also bought fat free, organic milk for the first time, and I can tell you, I think it tastes MUCH better than fat free regular milk. Normal fat free milk seems like water. This stuff doesn't. I really like it.

Well, I buy the Omega 3 eggs because they're the cheapest non-hormone eggs out there...but, unless you're eating them raw, all the Omega 3's are destroyed when you heat the eggs, so don't go buying them for that purpose alone!

We get our eggs from a free range farm (along with our meats, etc).

Yes, the Omega 3 can be damaged in the cooking process, but that doesn't remove it's overall nutritional value. However, if you are taking fish oil supplements (highly recommended) you won't need to worry about getting these eggs. It is better to take the supplements than to try and eat foods with omega 3 and not damage the chains while cooking it.

VG, very useful info! I'm not taking fish oil currently but have considered it.

On a daily basis, I take a multi vitamin and Tonalin-CLA. And I recently started popping green tea extract. Oh, and a medium skim latte from Starbucks every morning.

you know what else is REALLY good....organic yogurt!

OMG..i can't even eat regular yogurt anymore! lol (like yoplait, dannon, etc...), it's sooooo sugary and taste like chemicals after you've started eating organic yogurt.

OH OH OH, and most organic yogurt isn't homogenized (yes it's pasteurized though), so the cream floats to the top..OMG HEAVEN!!!!!!! my fave is vanilla or maple flavored...YUM YUM YUM!!!!

White and brown eggs are ok, but I think that the best eggs are the green ones. The eggs our chickens used to lay always seemed the best, but maybe that's all in my head. The chickens themselves were pretty colourful too.

    I love organic eggs!

They seem to have a...truer taste. If that makes any sense And also I've found that organic eggs seem to have fewer instances of bloody/multiple yolks.
