Default Houston is affecting my money!

i'm scared to work because I work in Houston #1 and #2 they are on a raiding spree. I wear latex and full backs, I don't have anyone to bail me out of jail if i get arrested for giving a dance. it's not like i'm doing extras i have heard that if they want to arrest you they will arrest you for anything. I just don't want to take the chance. I can't work without being super paranoid the whole time. any advice?

Can you travel somewhere during the weekend (a la non-houston) to work instead of putting yourself at risk?
God, grant me the senility, to forget the people I never liked anyway,
The good fortune to run into the ones that I do,
And the eyesight to know the difference.

Why don't you try St. James? #1 They don't require you to have a license because it's in the county and not the city, and if you ever get arrested on a BS charge the club will bail you out.

That's exactly it. If they want to arrest you they will, for anything. Sometimes they will just ticket you. The best thing you can do is talk to management about their plan in case of a raid. If you have a close friend, perhaps you can give her a few hundred bucks to hold onto in case, and let her know what's going on.

My opinion based on sad personal experience ...

Dancing in bust-prone areas usually boils down to club customers expecting dancers to provide 'entertainment' that they can be busted for. If a dancer chooses not to 'bend' the local law, she's probably not going to earn much money once the customers discover that fact. However, if a dancer chooses not to 'bend' the local law, there's no guarantee that she won't become embroiled in a future bust right along with the other dancers who ARE bending the law (and thanks to 'stripper credibility' problems will have no luck convincing a judge or jury that she was doing anything different than the other dancers).

If a club IS busted, odds are that the clubowner will post bail for all of the dancers. However, part of the 'deal' offered by the club's attorney in exchange for posting bail and dealing with the charges is that the dancer accept a 'plea bargain'. While the deal made between the club attorney and the DA will probably guarantee no jail time and the club paying all fines, it WILL constitute an admission of guilt on the dancers' permanent records. This probably doesn't matter if you intend on dancing for a long time, but this could constitute a major obstacle if you are planning on seeking certain types of 'straight job' employment at some point in the future.

If you ARE bogusly busted along with other dancers in the club, and if you wish to 'prove your innocence', at a minimum this requires that you reject the club attorney's deal. This probably means having enough cash saved up to allow you to cough up $500 or so up front for bail money, plus another $1000 or so up front to retain your own attorney. If you do not have that sort of money immediately available, I would seriously reconsider working in any club that is in a bust-prone area.

Also, in bust-prone areas that have a large local populace of 'bible-thumpers' and/or animosity between local strip clubs and local residents / gov't, then the $1000 or so in attorney's fees is probably only going to take you as far as being bogusly found 'guilty' by a local judge and jury. If you take this route, it's possible that the judge will sentence you to a week or two in the local lockup and/or an additional $1000+ fine in exchange for your 'audacity' of wasting the court's time in claiming to be innocent. In order to avoid being stuck with the consequences of this 'guilty' verdict by a local court, it's necessary that you be prepared to file an appeal. However, filing an appeal involves serious additional legal fees i.e. $5000+. Ironically, it is usually only the 'dirty' dancers who are able to earn enough money to hire a high-powered local attorney who will allow them to avoid being convicted and also avoid having a black mark on their permanent record.

In other words, if having a black mark on your permenent record (i.e. a misdemeanor 'sex' crime) matters to you, and if you don't have several thousands of dollars in cash available for a high-powered legal defense, continuing to dance in a bust-prone area involves some fairly high risk !

i would NOT recommend coming to beaumont if you're used to $300 +. it's about an hour away. however, my daily avg is $200-$250, so if that sounds good to you, i can get you hired on at my club. you DO need to get an SOB licsence though but it's only $30, and good for a year. PM me if you want to. and also, there is NO schedule :]

Just work in one of the less popular clubs that never gets raided. Trust me, there's quite a few of them here.
