Default Is this just water weight loss?

I was researching diets online today and I came across this one... Is this just water weight loss? Or is it weight that will stay off? As long as I eat healthy and work out..

**I DO PLAN ON WORKING OUT AND EATING A REGULAR HEALTHY DIET... JUST CURIOUS IF THESE LOSE REAL WEIGHT**

Hey I got this diet that will have you loose 10-17lbs in 7 days... i tried it but i did loose 7 pounds... the only reason it was so little cause i cheated...oops...lol... but i am going to try it again... here's the program... From the Sacred Heart Memorial Hospital. Used for the overweight heart patients to lose rapidly, usually before surgery
.i hope it works for you.... and if you do try... let me know how it goes..i'll do the same.. GOOD LUCK

*Please read the diet all the way through first and then determine how much to buy for the ingredient for the week.*

    Ingredients for soup:
3 large green onions 1 green pepper
1 or 2 cans of tomatoes 1 stark of celery
½ large of cabbage 1 pkg. Lipton or Knor soup mix

Season with salt, pepper, and curry, parsley if desired or hot sauce.

Cut veggies in small to medium pieces and cover with water. Boil fast for ten minutes. Cut to simmer and continue cooking until veggies are tender. This soup can be eaten anytime your are hungry. Eat as much as you want, whenever you want. This soup will not add calories. The more you eat, the more weight you will lose. Fill a thermos in the morning if you will be away during the day. If eaten alone for indefinite periods, you would suffer malnutrition.

Ingridents for through out the week:
fruits especially bananas, watermelon, and cantaloupe
    potatoes
    beef or chicken
    unsweetened juice or tea
vegetables especially green leafs and tomatoes (no peas or corn)

DAY 1: All fruit except bananas. Cantaloupe and watermelon are lower in calories than most fruits. Eat only the soup and fruits. For drinks unsweetened tea, cranberry juice, unsweetened juice or water.

DAY 2: All veggies. Eat until you stuffed with all the fresh raw or canned veggies. Try to eat green leafy veggies and stay away from dry beans, peas and corn. Eat along with the soup. At dinner on this day treat yourself with a big baked potato and butter. Do not eat any fruits.

DAY 3: Eat all the soup, fruits and veggies you want. Do not have a baked potato.

***If you have eaten for three days, as above and have not cheated, you will find have lost 5 to 7 pounds***

DAY 4: Bananas and skim milk. Eat as many as 3 bananas and drink as many glasses of milk/water as you can on this day with the soup. Bananas are high in calories, carbohydrates, proteins and calcium to lesson your craving sweets.

DAY 5: Beef and tomatoes. You may have 10-20 ounces of beef and a can of tomatoes or as many as 6 fresh tomatoes on this day. Try to drink at least 8-8oz glasses of water this day to wash away the uric acid in your body. Eat the soup at least once this day.

DAY 6: Beef and veggies. Eat to your heart’s content of the beef and veggies this day. You can even have 2-3 steaks if you like with green leafy veggies, but no baked potato. Be sure and eat the soup at least once today.

DAY 7: Brown rice, unsweetened fruit juice and veggies. Again stuff yourself. Be sure to have the soup at least once today.

***The end of the seventh day, if you have not cheated on the above diet, you will have lost 10-17 pounds. If have lost more than 15 pounds, stay off the diet for two full days before resuming the diet again from day one. ***

This seven-day eating plan can be used as often as you like. As a matter of fact, if correctly followed, it will clean your system of impurities and give you a feeling of well being as never before.

After only seven days of this process, you will begin to feel lighter by at least 10-17 pounds, and have an abundance of energy. Continue this plan as long as you like and feel the difference.

This diet is fast, fat burning and the secrete is that you will burn more calories than you take in. it will flush you system of impurities and give you a feeling of well-being. This diet DOES NOT lends itself to drinking any alcoholic beverages at any time because of the removal of the fat buildup in your system. Go off the diet at least 24 hours before any intake of alcohol.

Because everyone’s digestive system is different, this diet will affect everyone differently. After day three, you will have more energy than when you began if you did not cheat. After being on the diet for several days, you will find your bowel movements have changed – eat a cup of bran or fiber. Although you can have black coffee with this diet, you may find that you don’t need the caffeine after the third day.

DEFINITE NO NO’S: Bread, alcohol, no carbonated drinks (including diet drinks) Stick with water, unsweetened tea, black coffee, unsweetened fruit drinks, cranberry juice and skimmed milk.

The Basic Fat Burning Soup can be eaten anytime you feel hungry. Eat as much as you like. Remember that the more you eat, the more you lose. No fried food or bread. You can eat broiled or baked chicken instead of meat (absolutely no skin on the chicken).
Any prescribed medication will not hurt you on this diet. Continue this plan as long as you wish and feel difference both mentally and physically. If you prefer, you can substitute broiled fish for the beef on only one of the beef days. You need high-protein in the beef the other day.

If you want the weight to stay off, you can't go on crash diets. If you lose that fast, it will be water weight. And you'll pack it all back on when you go off it.

It's for heart patients, not normal people trying to lose a few...

You can get the same results from cutting calories and you don't have to do any crazy food restrictions. I mean...bananas are okay to eat one day, but not the next? And you can have as many steaks as you want?

It's much healthier to have a variety of differents foods in a day. Just eat less of them if you want to lose, and more if you want to gain. And more veggies/fruits/unprocess foods if you want to be healthier. It is not that hard.

that's the cabbage soup diet. it's not actually used for heart patients, and it does work, but the weight comes back on when you start eating normally again. it's good for losing weight for a special event, but not for a long term weight loss

Well, it's not. That's completely invented. The Sacred Heart Hospital has in fact distanced itself from this diet.
