    Default Dancing rules

I was in a SC in my home town a couple of nights ago and I was getting a dance from a nice girl. We are having a bit of a chat as well. As we are chatting, she is commenting on a couple of girls next to us that are giving two guys a dance. She then says that the girls are breaking the rules because they are not "30cm from the customers groin" when they are sitting on their leg.

I didn't realise there were such specific rules that are supposed to be adhered to! I am aware that obviously there have to be some rules, but how does it work?

    1. Are the rules there so that all dancers provide a similar level of interaction, to minimise problems (ie conflict between dancers) when dancers may do a little more to get good money?

    2. Or are the rules there for legal reasons?

    3. I wonder what other rules there are for dancers to remember?

I'm a newbie to this forum, so apologies if this sort of question has been asked before.

    Hi ya fellow Aussie.
To answer questions 1 & 2, yes and yes.
Australia is strict with rules but the laws vary from state to state. Queensland has 30cm distance laws for faces and genitalia basicly but the customer can touch just not between the legs and various clubs or dancers are even stricter with this rule too only allowing waist up touching or whatever.
NSW doesnt allow nude lap dancing at all instead you get a private show, and Victoria is the simular to Queensland but without the touching rule. Im not sure about the other states.
There are other rules and laws too, but I cant be bothered listing them right now. Hope that helped anyway. (-:

Rules very so much, within a country and across the globe.

They are to keep a standard operating procedure, level playing field, and to keep the club at the level (from nieghboorhood hangout to upscale gents club) they want to be, but most of all they are based in laws. Clubs have to be careful to follow then to stay open and keep their liscenses. In fact, some dancers have to have a business liscensE!

there are many rules and standard procedures, just like for any other job. For a 1/2 competent dancer, remembering is no issue. The rules range from attire to schedules to breaks to drinking to money/prices/fees and beyond. They can make sense and be good for the dancers, but sadly, there are many rules that are rediculous. Like what you can eat, how you can look, selling certain things like drinks/promos, using cell phones in the dressing room.... mandatory high and often undeserved tipouts for employees.....

there's a thread on bad/crazy strip club rules out there somewhere.....

    Yep, thanks!
It's all pretty well regulated in Australia. Well, it seems like it is...
Just thought it was strange to have such a specific distance rule (ie 30cm). Do the bouncers have to walk around with a tape measure to enforce it . I don't think I have ever seen a bouncer say to a dancer to tone it down a bit. Maybe it is done more discretely.

    ^^^^
Its usually a manager rather than a bouncer. Believe me our manager will walk straight up in the middle of a dance and tell a girl off if need be. One girl at my club had this happen to her coz she let the customer hold her hips too low.

Clubs cannot run the risk of getting busted. They have to stick to their licence. If they do not have a brothel licence (which they dont in Melbourne) then there cannot be certain activities or they will get fined and shut down.

No tape measure but its generally pretty obvious when someone gets too close. We aren't allowed to sit in laps at my club and breasts have to be about 30 cms away from the face. You can just tell when someone is too close by looking.

There are rules in most countries.

We have rules in the UK, but they vary according to location and the type of establishment.

The aim is to give some protection to venue, dancers and customers. Because all three have slightly dfferent priorities, the rules may sometimes seem irksome to one side or another.

For example, the rules about staying 30 cm away allow the lower contact girls to still earn a living. How many guys would buy a dance from no contact girls if they were allowed to touch other dancers?

The arguement tends not to be so much about whether we should have rules, but what are the most appropriate rules to set.

    Phil.

30cms generally is the length of the average dancers forearm so its pretty easy to judge the distance, or for others to tell if a dancers gone too close.
As Jaizaine said management or security are usually onto it quickly if they feel someones breaking the distance rule. In Qld clubs have lost their licenses in the past over stuff like this so all clubs tend to be very strict with the laws.
Ive not seen any tape measures yet though
