    Default I need some kind of food plan

    Lately(started in oct) I have been having really weird food patterns. i have been eating healthy food,keeping my cals at 1200 a day(im on a break from dancing), in a journal. I write down everything i eat and drink. Anyway, now my habit is eating a bowl of fiber cereal a day and thats it. im not hungry at ALL. i will do this for days and then one day i just eat everything in sight(and i do mean everything, last night i baked a loaf of banana bread, ate the entire thing,then had 2 fully loaded salads, and pasta, and everything else that is bad for you)

    i havent ate anything all day now because my stomach is sooo bloated and the thought of food is literally making me sick. i dont know why the hell some days i have to force myself to eat a little something and then one day im starved because of it. whats up with this? and what can i do to change it?

    *to add, i have had eating disorders in the past but i really feel this is not related to that, and im not on any meds at the time*

    Well, duh. You're going on binges because you're not getting all the nutrients you need. Cereal is nice, but human beings need variety in our diet; you need all kinds of vitamins, minerals, fats, proteins, and other things that you can't get from one bowl of cereal a day. Besides, there is no way that cereal has enough calories to fuel your body's needs.

    What you are doing is slowing your metabolism way down, training your body to store as much fat as possible. It feels like it's starving, so it wants to store tons and tons of fat when you do eat so that it can get you through the times when you're not eating. This isn't good. You need to eat more often and get your metabolism back up.

    Throw out the cereal and don't buy anymore. Make sure you eat different foods every day, and make sure you include healthy snacks every few hours. By eating something every few hours, you convince your body that there is plenty of food so it can afford to burn calories off instead of laying in storage. Your snacks can be as simple as fruit, raw veggies, whatever. Just eat something and vary it up!

    i know i know, its just for days straight i wont be hungry at all. its like pulling teeth to get myself to get some kind of food down, i just dont know what to do to get my appetite back.

    Well, I hear marijuana's good for that.

    Seriously, you're not hungry because your body thinks it's starving. Force yourself to eat something first thing in the morning whether you're hungry or not, and stick with regular snacking on light stuff until your body gets the idea that it's okay to tell you when it needs food. When people are starving, the hunger mechanism gets shut off because the body figures it won't get fed anyway. You have to convince your body that there's plenty of food now.

    You haven't mentioned any protein foods. If that's all you've been eating you're probably severely protein deficient.

    So, when you start eating again it's a good idea to focus on the proteins.

    Yek has the right idea. Force yourself into the right eating patterns and before you know it they'll feel natural.

    Force yourself to put even the smallest meals in your mouth at a couple of consistent times a day for a few days...
