Are they open yet?!?!
Are they open yet?!?!
Their re-opening? I thought they were shut down a few months ago.
Eh, I don't know. I'm just looking on the bright side. I heard they get raided and shut down every so often. I guess there are no memphis girls on this site.
I'm from Memphis and I keep up with local politics fairly well. I haven't heard anything about the "Mt. Moriah Performing Arts Center" reopening just yet. Your post led me to look up the number for the club and call it, and the phone is still disconnected. So I'd say they're not open yet. Bummer.

I don't think the Memphis PP re-opened yet. All the girls from Memphis are still at the Greenville PP.

Yeah, things going on at PP make it to the news here in Nashville, and there haven't been any stories about them re-opening.
The owners had a hearing scheduled for March 19th and it was continued to sometime in May. As much as I'd like to see the club re-opened, it's highly doubtful IMO. Even if it does re-open it'll never be the same. Many of the girls migrated to the Pony but the mileage there is quite tame. Mgmt specifically informed any girls that performed extras will be out on their a$$.
I would like to add that this club is still shutdown because of the Feds. If it were up to the owners the club would've been opened yesterday. In the indictment, the Feds asked the court to force the owners to surrender the property (clubs) since they were used as a vehicle for the alleged money laundering, prostitution and drug trafficking. I have heard the owners are fighting this but because it's a Federal case, the probility of them winning is bleak. Chances are they'll give up the clubs in a plea deal which means the end of Platinum and the Tunica Cab.![]()
It's federal? I could've sworn it was local government just like last time.

Iggy and The Stooges are playing at the Beale St Music festival May 4. Are there any clubs on or near Beale St? I'm a big music fan.
No strip clubs near Beale St., no. And all the ones on the south side of town are going to be really gross. Platinum Plus was really the only strip club in Memphis worth going to.
I hear the one on White Station and Walnut Grove is pretty good. I forget what it's called but it's attached to the Fantasy Warehouse adult toy store.
i read somewhere that there is a club in downtown memphis now. dont remember the name. that would be close to beale st.

'cause there was still a bunch of money in there for girls who were just doing dances.
Yeah, I know lotsa girls who were good clean girls that did extremely well. I am super supporter of Platnium Plus chain.
That place was nuts. Several hundred customers every weekend night, without fail. I never worked there (mileage would be too high for me, and I'd be too likely to run into someone I know)... but damn that was a great club to hang out at.
I know why they shut it down though. I've personally seen blowjobs in the lapdance room and girls doing cocaine off the bathroom counter. That place was completely off the hook and couldn't last like that, especially in a town like Memphis.

^That's what I'm saying. Money in the place or not, it seems kinda ridiculous to mourn the "loss" of a place that allowed that shit to go on, and so openly. Essentially, to mourn the "loss" of such blatant PIMPS. I'm sure plenty of girls made lots of money just doing dances, but as Yek said, still very high contact. Personally I am glad to see a club like that shut down, rather than allowed to continue business as usual while only busting the girls now and then. I say it time and time again, this business has gotten so dirty in large part because clubowners are not at any real legal risk, only the girls. When the hammer starts coming down on clubowners, shit will start to clean up again, because it will have to. Furthermore, as long as girls are willing to put up with that shit, we'll continue having to put up with it more and more. As I have seen recently, it IS possible to clean up the clubs and still make GREAT money in them. I say good riddance to this club!
Good point. I hadn't really thought of it that way. The last time I was there, I got to talking to one of the dancers about law enforcement and how crazy the club was, and she said every once in awhile the cops come in and write tickets, but nobody really minds. The club pays the tickets and everything continues as usual. She said on the rare occasion the customers get ticketed, the club pays their tickets too. There was seriously SO MUCH money flowing through that place, a few tickets now and then didn't amount to a fart in the wind.
I bet the other clubs were happy to see the end of PP though. I went to a couple other clubs when I was in town last summer and they were DEAD. Bored, listless dancers, only a couple of customers, nobody buying dances. PP was really the only game in town. I'm looking forward to visiting Christies and the Pony next time I'm in town to see whether things have picked up now.

^I keep thinking of the other club that's said to be telling girls if they perform extras they'll be out on their ass, as mentioned in post above. That's kinda what I mean - this club obviously doesn't want to risk the same thing happening to them, now that it's happened to PP. And maybe they won't make as much money for a little while, but these things have a way of evening out later on. People may no longer fly or drive to Memphis looking for a $50 HJ, but ehh, so what? Trust me, when low or no contact is all the customers can get, that's what they'll buy - the girls will just have to re-work their game. Seen it with my own eyes.

I'm mourning the loss of crazy $$$, not a club! PP is not for girls who don't like contact. (However, in Memphis they don't have champagne room so you sell blocks of your time -- there is no upsell there). Girls trick at my PP and it doesn't effect my money. Maybe they're Memphis leftovers. However, my co-workers that are from Memphis are some of the best hustlers I know.
And the pimp thing, even some of the most esteemed clubs in America (nearly all Tampa and so. FL clubs) are filled with girls who have pimps. Its ACCEPTED by MGMT cause these girls work hard. Girls with pimps are everywhere, what can you do.
And if you meant MGMT being pimps, those girls are either pimped out or pimping out themselves. Tip out is what, 50-60 bucks a night? Girls walking out with 2 g's? Most clubs I know of they would be taking 1/4-1/2 of your $$$.
Anyway-- I thought someone maybe would have an inside scoop on here about it but it seems not. I'm going to talk to MGMT this weekend and see what the word is. (However, Memphis is not owned by the same owner as mine, they are completely different entities, just a franchise. It was weird-- MGMT would circulate to Portland, Greenville, Columbia and now Hialeah, but Memphis always kept the same crew). And Hialeah sucks balls don't ever work there.

Wow, PP was the first club I ever worked at about 3 1/2 years ago. I was a clean dancer and made a killing there. I routinely walked out of there with 1k+.
There were some shady happenins going on in there but guys still bought tons of clean dances so its wasn't such a big deal. It was what it was.
agreed even tho i havent been at PP for years. it is what it is and there is no reason to be hating on this club. yea they had problems but dont be fooled. vice knew about everything there and YES you could make money there clean. at one time this was THE most lucretive club in the country. did they mis mangage probley. hence the closedown. i will tell you what i was never so appreciated by a club in my life as i was there
oh and fwiw i saw soo many more pimps in tampa/miami then i ever saw at PP.

That club was awesome, unlimited amount of custys and EVERYBODY ( clean girls and the bad ones ) were busy. Management was cool and never bothered you, who cares what the owners did. Please.. there's always a certain amount of badness in ever club - seen or not. PP was just a tad careless. Memphis did and always will have a rep for being rowdy and just a little bit more open about what they do. It's just the way it was. Been that way for years..
I'll miss it. A lot.
