    Default rant and resolution

I am so tired of being a stupid slacker. I have totally had it with my lazy ways. I have had a stupid credit card bill hanging over my head for a couple months now that I have been paying off bit by bit, that, if I had just buckled down and worked, I could have dealt with in month! I know it's kind of a stupidcrazydumbinsane thing to do, but, in general, I'm better at getting things done in hardcore, stressful conditions, so, starting tomorrow, I work every goddamn day until it's gone. I did it when I had a fulltime job and worked at the Lusty; I can do it with a part-time job and real stripping. The only exception to this will be if I get my research assistant position I interviewed for and start it before I'm done with the bill. Early days at RA positon will be early beddy-byes for me. Otherwise, I'm gonna doooooo it. So there, slacker self! And Emily, I'm going to be thinking of you for inspiration - if you can work six days a week on a regular basis, than by george, I can do this for just a little while.

Not meaning to be critical in any way, but ...

The major reason that dancers are often comfortable putting off debt repayments is the assumption that present opportunities for decent earnings potential will be the same next month or next year as they presently are. Unfortunately, with lots of signs of weakness in the economy, with a slump in housing, with rising energy prices etc., dancer earnings potential could take a turn for the worse at any time. If you look at the situation from a 'strike while the iron is hot' point of view, it should help with motivation.

And no offense taken. The worst part is that I'm not comfortable with it. Not even a little bit. I hate being in debt. It's not even that much actually, if I lived in an area with better strip clubs, or was a better hustler, I could probably deal with it in a week or two. Nonetheless, debt just isn't right. I've always been a pay-off-your-credit-card-every-month kind of girl until this little hiccup. I have no excuse for being such a slacker lately, not even comfort with debt.
I totally agree with you on the uncertainty of the stripper income. I have to admit that the approach of the slow days of summer is providing some extra motivation to get it done now!

^^^I think it is also part of the youthful learning curve. Most young people take these lessons with credit cards and debt the hard way. i didn't become a habitual saver until I started dancing. But once you gain that habit, you don't let it go.

My first month of dancing I buckled down and got out of CC debt. I had like 5K. It was bad, but I managed to pull it off. I'm sure you will to.
