    Default Swimmer workouts?

    Do we have any swimmers in the house? Because I'm getting a little bored of the cycle/ellyptical/inline (but not my Bikram!) routine, I'm thinking of hitting the lap pool at the gym. While I've used it a few times, it has been an unorganized activity.

    Does anyone have a lap pool programme--say, X number of crawl laps, then X number of butterfly, etc.--that they use? Also, aside from the usual stretching routines, what is a good, complementary weight routine for swimming?

    I dont have an actual routine...I'm just happy the water is getting warm enough to go back in my pool(I really need to get a pool heater).

    I just do laps until I collapse...I stretch out beforehand both in and out of the water...I'll do 10-20 butterfly, 10-20 breaststroke, etc...until I just cnat do anymore. Then i get my ass up on the float and soak up the sun until I'm rested and do it again. Best excersize!!

    I'm with Cameron. No set routine.

    My inlaws own a lake with a private membership beach club. There are two docks with a distance of about two swimming pools between them. I swim from one to the other using one stroke till I'm exhausted.

    Rest for a bit, then switch strokes. I just do this for about a half hour or so, so I'm not sure how many lengths that would be.

    But you can't beat swimming for exercise. I look so toned in the summer due to this.
