    Default Mystic - no color?!

I did Mystic last night and got NO COLOR. I havent done it in a few years but remember always getting so dark. I guess the new ones have a "bronzer" switch you can turn on or off... the girl turned it off for me... maybe it should have been on? Oh, the girl also said that yesterday was the first day with a new formula through them...

Kinda frustrated that I wasted $20 on nothing... maybe I was too dark for level 1 so its not showing up?

I'd go back and show them it didnt work and demand a free session WITH the bronzer. BUt go back NOW or they'll just say it faded

Yeah, go back and show them today esp if it was a new formula. I used to go a couple of places, but I can't go to one of them anymore for the very same reason. It doesn't matter what level I use, it ends either really light or not showing up at all. Now I go to another place. It's a little further away, but the formula they use shows up really well and doesn't look too orange.

Thumbs down Re: Mystic - no color?!

Me too!! I thought it was something I was doing wrong, but I remember a long time ago, the Mystic used to make me soo dark, but now it barely makes a difference, bronzer on or off.
I agree, very annoying when you spend the time/money on it!! I didn't know they changed their formula, but that would explain why it doesn't work anymore.

I LOVE the clear mystic! No one has it here in Tucson. It always worked the same for me except w/o the nasty bronzer. Strange that it didn't work for you. Make sure you exfoliate a lot. I use the exfoliant glove so that it doesn't add any moisture. Do not moisturize. The dry exfoliated skin will soak up the mystic the best.
Oh, I just read that you used the lighter level; I have never done that. Go back and nicely complain...

Different salons use different formulas. You just need to try a couple of salons.

That occasionally happens with spray tans. You need to go back and tell them and get the sprayer to do 2 coats next time. Ask what level DHA they are using.

8% DHA is usually a light colour.
10% DHA is a medium colour and the colour that will suit most people
12% DHA is the darkest. If you want to be really really brown this is the level you want.
    Always get 2 coats.

Works fine on the face. Just dont have any make-up or moisturiser on when it's applied.

I dont recommend fake tanning the face. It clogs the pores and can lead to breakouts. For some people it's fine but if you have skin that can be prone to breakouts it should be avoided.

I spray tan my body but never the face. I just use a foundation that is slightly darker than my skin tone and also use a bronzer.

The bronzer they use in spray tans is temporary anyway and is just there to darken your skin until the fake tan sets in and you wash off the bronzer.
