    Default Paid and unpaid internships

Ive noticed that I could be up for some paid and unpaid internship next summer. However, school, club work, and other job seems overwhelming. Most of the internships want at least 16hrs a week. Thats 2 days of 8hr shifts plus the 3 days a week add the minimum 2 days Im at school. Thats 7 day a week work week.

If anyone has had an internship are they pretty fleixble with your school and your other job? I only want to do this to put some experience and/or job history on my resume for better internships and future jobs.

It depends on how big the company is. If it's a smaller company, I found they are a little more flexible. Bigger companies have a lot more people jumping at the internships and may be a bit more demanding. (This is just my personal experience.)

And LuckiCharm is right. It does matter what field you are going into.

If you do your internship, maybe you should only take 1 class, or even no classes during the summer.

could you take a break from your classload, so you can work and do an internship? have you even been picked for the internship yet?

Im considering them. In my field its best to do an internship b/c at the end they hire most of the interns that were higher up. The internship could be filing papers for a few months to doing busy work with the labs anything will help me with my foot in the door. I would most likely be working for a lab doing whatever they needed. It isnt glorious by any means.

Im reluctant to take a break in btwn semesters because Im in school for the next ~6 years anyways. Longer if I dont do summer school every summer.

TM, I've hired quite a few interns in my time. I worked with their schedules, but they had to do a certain amount of hours. Find out what that is for your particular school and I'm sure you'll find a company willing to accommodate you.

As for the paid/unpaid thing. I've had both as well. When they were unpaid, I made sure we reimbursed them for gas and lunch. I also looked the other way when they had to leave early and the like.

Because I afraid this might interfere with the job and might limit me to the amount of hours I can work as a stripper. Basically, does it all mix together? I cant afford to work less than 2 days a week dancing and work an unpaid internship. Or if I should take the hard route and dont do any internships and just apply from nowhere.

TM, just find out how many hours minimum you are required to work as an intern and take it from there.

Also, remember, that internships are during the day usually, so it really shouldn't interfere with your stripping schedule. Well, aside from you being really tired, that is.

Chemists are experimentalists. Experience in a lab will help your future plans. If you can swing less income for the summer, the lab experience is a longer range goal. Else take one less class, IMO.
I loved going to strip clubs; I actually made some friends there. Now things are different for the clubs and for me. As a result I am not as happy.

Customers are not entitled to grope, disrespect, or rob strippers. This is their job, not their hobby, and they all need income. Clubs are not just some erotic show for guys to view while drinking.

NOTE: anything I post here, outside of a direct quote, is my opinion only, which I am entitled to. Take it for what you estimate it is worth.
