"The House, fractured roughly along party lines, also defined human life as beginning at conception in a bill that creates a murder charge for anyone who causes the death of a fetus through violence or vehicular homicide."

sweet, pregnant ladies can drive in the fucking carpool lane.

umm, this makes me want to throw up. i'm sorry, but i really dislike the politics in your state... not that CA is bragging rights, but.... urgh... I'm gonna plan a trip and protest. that makes me very very angry.

^^ yeah, Fl is definately a red state and I hate the politics here too. Hmm...lets take a woman making an unbelievably difficult choice and stress her out even more...lay HUGE guilt trips on her and maybe she wont even need an abortion because we'll just stress her out so bad she'll miscarry.
But wait....wouldnt that now qualify as murder? What if....what if the new laws DID stress her out that much?? WOULD she be able to bring murder charges against the state? Hypothetically all their BS MIGHT have changed her mind and now that baby she all of a sudden wanted is gone.

I see interesting lawsuits on the horizen....

Even hippy-dippy California is not immune to local skirmishes regarding birth control and family planning. My local Planned Parenthood was picketed weekly by zealot freaks because PP announced plans to move to a new office next to the local high school ("sexing da teens..oh noes!"). They had to hire security after someone smashed an employee's car windshield & scrawled graffitti on the building. Luckily the new location is in a busy business park so any hypocritical froot loop trying to cause trouble will be spotted and run off (if not run over, heh heh.)
You bet my dollars to Planned Parenthood and furious letters to senators are going to be fired up now. Thank you for posting this cameron_keys.

Thanks to assholes like the ones who sponsored and passed this bill, you cannot drive anywhere in Florida without seeing the cute little official Florida 'Pro Life' license plates, complete with happy little kiddie cartoon faces. It makes me want to vomit whenever I see it.

I've seen a great quote under someone's sig here: "When facism comes to America it will be wrapped in the flag and carrying a cross" . I think I got that right, but I can't recall the attribution at the moment.

Things are getting downright scary. Time for the pendulum to swing the other way.

ok i just put that on my myspace page....scary but true.

And Djoser..I agree I HATE those plates. It would be fine if a plate supporting pro-choice was allowed...but it ISNT. They claim theirs isnt pro life...but supporting adoption. Uh huh. Thats why it says nothing about adoption on it. Pure BS to allow one side to advertise and not the other.

If you are feeling frisky, you can always let the air out of the tires of the cars with those plates (without actually damaging the tires). If enough people do that often enough, then the plates will eventually go away. I want to visit Florida just to do that.

my GOD that made me so angry. the fact that they defined (already) a fetus as a human at conception is REALLY beginning a slippery slope. and showing the images to the woman wanting abortion is like, "are you SURE you want one? no really, are you SURE? look at this baby, are you absolutely SURE SURE SURE you want an abortion? you're killing a baby..." and that angers me to NO end. im seriously so annoyed at florida right now, and am reminded of a line from an Ani Difranco song called Self Evident about the world trade centers and politics nowadays. in reference to how Bush "stole the oval office in that phony election" and she says, "Jeb said he'd deliver florida folks and boy did he EVER..."
    *sigh*

    Love it!

It's a war against American women, plain and simple. You are seen as nothing more than incubators by your political administration. The "Handmaid's Tale" has come true. For those of you who don't know, it is a book of fiction written by Canadian author Margaret Atwood. Read it and be chilled.

They have those plates in TN, too, and they bother me. I've had a discussion with a couple of people about it, and they don't understand why I'm upset over the plates. My response is normally about the fact that there are no 'pro choice' plates, because that would be offensive to people. Well, they 'pro life' one's are offensive to me. I don't want somebody's values pushed on me while sitting in traffic. It's a personal choice, not something to be advertised while you drive by.

^^exactly. I would be far less offended if both sides had their say. But to allow one side and ban the other is such unbelievable political BS ..it makes my blood boil
