    Default Is the club responsible?

I left my car at the club last night as I sometimes do if I have had to much to drinkand I get a ride from my friend. So today I go to pick up my car and the window has been smashed in. I had nothing of value but they riffled through the car. The club has cameras and Iam waiting to see if they can see anything. Now, I shou;ld be able to leave my car if Ive had to much to drink and not worry about it . If it was a customer they would probably sue the club. I feel they should reimburse me for this. They made over 500 off me last night and its going to cost around 300 to fix. What do you guys think? Should I call ans ask? What should I say?

Ummm, not to sure on this one but I would think that they're not responsible. I had my car broken into once while I was AT work (not a SC, but a Fred Meyer in WA)-they smashed the passenger side window and stole my stereo. I had to pay to replace all of it. And I thought they had video cameras in the employee parking lot, but found out after the fact that they couldn't keep them cause the theives stole those too!!!!!

They probably aren't responsible. Just file a claim with your auto insurance and they'll pay for the damages, minus the deductible. Either way, you will have to pay some out of pocket, I had my car broken into about 5 yrs ago in my apartment complex and I know how you feel, it's such a creepy violating feeling! *shudders* can't even imagine how it would feel to have my home broken into!

My insurance deductable is 250 thats how much its going to cost not including tinting. That will probably be around 50. Yeah I kept thinking I had things in the car with my adress on it. I called the club to ask if they had looked at the video. He said he woild get back with me. I said do you have any kind of insurance for situations like this and he goes no not really, well it wasonly the drivers side window right. Then he said he would watch the video and get back with me. If they would cover half Id be happy. Ive been at the club for three years and make them alot of money. Oh well I guess Ill see.

I found a really good legal forum the other day. I hope it's not against the rules to post the name of another forum on here But the name of it is www.freeadvice.com. I'd post the question there and see what you get.

Thanks guys Ill check that site. Threlayer my mon said the same thing. I guess just dont drink so much so you cant drive. But then the club shouldnt encourage drinking since they make money off of it either, on the other hand.

At most of the clubs I have worked at the management/owners have been pretty understanding. Is there someone like that there? If it is hard for you to pay the money, you could tell them and they might give you free house or something.

My car was broken into while I was at work once. It sucked! We didn't have a lot though, and I stupidly parked on a side street. So that wass totally my fault.

I agree with you 100% that the club should not encourage drinking for the ladies. I couldn't stand how it was in Vegas. Yeah, they always said there where virgen drinks you could order, but in the same breath they want you to push cham. and wine.

Talk to a manager or owner (one with a bit of that white knight thing going on) about issues with drinking at work and about your car.

Or, don't ask for anything, but deffenitly tell a owner or manager so they know leaving a car and taking a cab is not safe!

If you are going to leave your car at times you need comprehensive coverage wiuth a deductible you can live with.

The other too-late solution is to taper off your drinking well before your shift leaves so you are legal. Live and learn. Sorry.
    I agree.

well technically speaking then a female of my height and size would only be allowed 3 drinks in a 6 hour shift and still be legal and the shift is 8-2 so I would have to have my last drink at midnight. When your in vip all night like Iam and you get a free drink each time or on the foor its easy to exeed this limit. Also alot of girls still drive after 5or 6 drinks or if thet arent falling down drunk and think its ok. I dont drive mydelf if I have had more than 4 or one too close to the midnight mark. Sorry I knoe girls who have had a couple only and have gotten a dui.

Sorry that happened. But it's probably like, if you got broken into at the mall, is the mall responsible? Look on the bright side, you could have gotten a ticket, too, for being parked overnite, like where I live!!!!!! I met my bf somewhere, we went to a late movie in his car, came back to get mine and a ticket for over $100. Sorry you got broken into--awful feeling

You can't really place blame on the club because you were too drunk to drive home. You're a grown up, and you have the ability to stop drinking at any point. Bartenders can make fake drinks very easily. Just because other girls do it, that doesn't make it ok.

Sorry if that sounds mean, but you can't blame other people for things like this.

I had to leave my car at the club overnight ONCE(when I was drugged). I was terrified that exactly this would happen...because I knew the club would not be responsible. Thankfully it was ok...

    Agreed.

And just because 'it's easy to get carried away in the VIP' is no reason to be smashed at work and need a ride home (though I admire your responsibility when it came to the latter). 'No' is a good word to learn. "No drinks right now, I'm getting tipsy, how about water?" works well.
