Default cant think of appropriate title? to do with the way clubs are run

    sorry about the title

I was thinking.....brothels are legal here in Melbourne and they are run in the way that the girls are introduced to the customers and the customer picks the one he likes.

I swear some nights I wish my club was run like this. I hate talking to guys, I am sooooooooooo shit at it. I hate having to sit there and pretend to be interested and keep wondering when the right time to pop the question is.

I thought this job would be soooooooo much easier than it is. So yeah sometimes I wish they would just like put us on stage or something and let guys pick the girl they want a dance from.

what about asking your club to employ a 'hostess' or two a few nights a week.

thats what we have. they make a wage, plus for every dance they get us, they keep $5 or $10- or 10% if its a super long booking.

takes the heat off us sometimes

My first club sort of did that. Every once in awhile we all had to line up and walk in single file out of the dressing room, through the club, on the stage and around the pole, then back down off the stage. Then the DJ would put on something really obnoxious like the "Mission Impossible" theme and announce a special (usually 3 for 1). I HATED that. Hated it completely. I finally just refused to do it and sat in the dressing room whenever they decided to do that shit, and eventually I quit.

we have that cattlecall its called the showcase. but i dont find that it helps sell dances. its just all of us on the main stage walking around in circles, we all think it looks pretty stupid.

i wish i could talk to the men!

I dunno, that format has it's advantages and it's disadvantages. I mean, how are you gonna feel if you parade on stage and every single girl gets chosen except you? Or if every customer is fighting over 5 different girls and you're not one of them? Or when you're the only girl left standing there and the remaining customers look at you like "Ehh... no, that's okay... I'll just wait for one of the other girls to finish."

I could never work at a club that did something like that, because I would stress myself to the point of having an anxiety attack and getting physically ill, because I'd be so terrified of all of the above scenarios occuring. I'm far too insecure and unconfident to work in that kind of atmosphere.

you still have to make *some* attempt to hussle!! lol its not a perfect world just yet

basically, the hostess could come up to you while you are talking to a custy, and put the hard sell on them to take you. makes them seem like the bad guy, not you

or they can hussle the guys fro you while you are on stage. book in the show and when you get off stage you have a show or two waiting.

maybe speak to your managers about getting some in even for a months trial. it would help tonnes over the shitty season

Well, I'm a man. Here's my take on this:

Since joining SW and learning at the virtual knee of sundry dancers, I watch the stage, and when I see a girl I find attractive, I will go to the stage, tip her between $5 and $10, ask her if I can have a dance when she's done on stage, and tell her where I am sitting.

BEFORE joining SW, I would sit at my table and stare intently and hopefully at the dancer I wanted, hoping she would notice my interest and come by my table. If she didn't and it was getting late, I would hope that ANYBODY would come by and ask for a dance.

So, my advice is this: frequently scan around the room, and if you see someone looking at you, go pay him a visit. The opportune moment to ask? Soon after you strike up the conversation. That question is what he is most interested in, and even if he wants to sit and finish his beer first, he would like you to ask him.

Of course, some guys don't want lapdances. I went to clubs for many years before I had one, and then it was a free dance given at the end of the night by a dancer I had tipped a couple hundred on stage that night and a couple thousand over time. It was then that I discovered that lapdances were not as threatening as I had previously believed. Hey, they were fun!

So, some guys may turn you down because they are afraid of the lapdance experience, or maybe it violates their personal standards. (Everyone has limits. They are all valid.) If you ask early, you will waste less of your time before being turned down, but if you give him a little time and attention, eventually he may decide to buy. I did.

see if forget this! and its good to be reminded from time to time that there are men who are waiting to be asked. i do try to look around and see who is looking at me and i will approach those guys but i do forget sometimes that some guys wont come up and ask me.

thanks, very good points. i totally understand what u r saying by some guys feeling threatened by lap dances, for some people they are intimidating, before i started dancing i got one and found myself quite embarrased and not knowing where to look
