If its an ear infection, try putting a few drops of peroxide down into your ear. Sometimes this helps.

If it does not hurt, no bacteria has grown yet it seems.

I get swimmers ear, it sucks. I go to Walgreens and get a ear kit. It cleans out your ears of wax, which may have trapped some water in your ear. The kit works, you put the solution in and gently suck it out with the bulb they give you.

Keep that ear at all times pointing at the sink when doing this. You want the solution to run back out.

Hey what ever you had has gone to my kid...

Took her to the doc, and he said she has an ear infection with excess fluid build up! 10 days worth of antibiotics!!

    CALLY... READ PLEASE>>>>>>>>

Doctor stated that it is a good thing I brought her in when I did, as the fluid causes excess stress to the middle ear and can cause permanent damage!

GET TO THE FUCKING DOCTORS ALREADY!! BEFORE YOU GO DEAF!

Last summer I had an ear problem where it felt like I still had water in my ear from swimming for like a week. I finally went to the doc. They looked at it and basically said, "Nope, you don't have an ear infection. You've just got some wax blocking your eardrum." So they irrigated it and the problem went away.

Maybe that's what's going on? As long as you don't have any real pain or anything in your ear.

I'd suggest trying candling too, but if that doesn't help, do get to the doctor. I have a permanent hearing loss due to repeated ear infections as a kid.

Yeah, if you have an ear infection you should have antibiotics. Just go to the doctor - make an appointment if you don't feel it's urgent so you don't have to wait; if you don't want to do that or don't have a doctor these people are usually pretty speedy and I've always found them good. Plus - easy to get to (Spadina Station).

My understanding of candling is that the crud you see in the candle is from the candle, not your ear (like you'll see the same result if you burn the candle in a sterile jar as in your ear. And if you think about it - ear wax is pretty viscous. The vacuum required to suck it out would probably pop your ear drum. I've never actually tried it myself though, so I don't know for sure). It is not a substitute for medical attention and will not cure an infection.

Hey I have a dentist too. He's pretty expensive, actually, if you don't have coverage (I'm covered through school); but he is very, very oriented towards pain and swelling management. So you could work the same week without looking like a chipmunk.
