    Default great cheap products?

So Consumer Reports did a big study on which wrinkle creams are most effective. I wish they did more studies on stuff like this, I don't need to know which car in ever single possible car class is the most effective every other month. I like the highly-rated car that I already have. Anyway, the particularly interesting part is that the most highly rated product was one of the cheapest ones in the study - Olay Regenerist. It's a three-part thing (Enhancing Lotion, Perfecting Cream, and Daily Regenerating Serum), and each 'part' is about $19 in a drug store. The most expensive product, La Prairie Cellular, was one of the least effective.
So my thought was, what other products are out there that are really cheap and really awesome. There's many things in life where you just have to suck it up and pay high prices for quality, but every once in a while you run into something that is cheap and awesome! What are yours?

    I love Cholesterol as a deep conditioner...at about $3 its a steal...esp since I get 5 or 6 applications out of that $3 tub!

I also LOVE St Ives stuff. The apricot facial scrub beats any more expensive stuff I've ever used.

Lip balm..nothing works better then plain old chapstick

Queen Helene products (FYI great for women of all races, but the line is marketed towards women of color...Sally's Beauty Supply stocks all of the skin & haircare items)
Aussie Hair Products (Especially the "Dual Personality Mousse + Leave-In Conditioner")
Bentonite clay + apple cider vinegar masques (for "troubled" skin) Both products sold at health food stores, & they go a long way
Olive, Coconut, Apricot Kernel & Jojoba Oils..." "
Baking Soda & Hydrogen Peroxide- use both or separately to polish teeth
Epsom salt- for foot hygiene, soaking baths and scrubs

Thanks for posting about the Olay study. I like the L'oreal glycolic acid facial set about $19. It's good for exfoliation especially if you have dry skin.

8-10 uncoated aspirin and enough water for them to dissolve in. Put it on...leave it for 20-30 min. and voila smooth skin.

Paula'Choice products are good quality and inexpensive. You can order them at www.cosmeticscop.com. I especially like the cleansers, my favourite is Skin Recovery Cleanser. Removes heavy makeup easily.

Milani eye shadows (which are available at target for only $3.00 or so) are a good value, and come in some bright MAC like shades. Same goes for NYX cosmetics.

i'm a big shea butter fan .. though the stuff is oily i still think its one of the best things for all over just take time to rub it in actually is like a ritual
at the vitamin shoppe i found outofafricashea.com products.. they had an exfoliating shea butter bath bar.. i havent used it yet but it was only 3.99 and the ingredients were great and made in africa by women by hand so hope it profits them.. i like things from small businesses like that
if its a flop i'll post it but for pretty cheap ..and their little jars of shea butter were only 8.00 .. other real shea butters are more like 15$ but these little 3.99 soaps seem really good especially if you dont need alot of lotion afterwards

The grease factor of shea butter really is a downer.. takes time but if i take the time and put it on then take a dry cloth and rub it in .. then put on regular lotion ..speaking of bath/bodyworks finally got the cinnabon one lordy i could drink it ... and then again with the dry cloth.. smooth smooth but takes like 1/2 hour .. maybe ill just do what you do and put on at night and deal with sticky pj's .. make it more a night time moisturizer .. still havent used the body bar yet will post when i do

OMG girl! Either your hair is ridiculously long, or you're using to much product! You should be getting wayyyyyyy more applications out of that tub than 5 or 6
