I bought a pair of jeans off eBay, advertised as "good condition." They came with distress and holes. I wrote to her tactfully telling her this, and told her that I wanted to tell her rather than passive-aggressively give her negative feedback.
She wrote back saying that she could refund.
I wrote back saying that I needed to think this over, and that I was as going to ask my powerseller friend what would be the best way to do this, as I wanted my out-of-pocket to be minimal and if I'd have to contend with eBay rules. I also suggested that in the future, it might be good to include descriptions of dimensions.
Her latest response reeks of bitchiness:
After reading your e-mail, I strongly recommend that you return the jeans. I don't need you to tell me how I should be listing my items. I don't believe you have sold anything, right? After all, is it really neccesary to consult with your "power seller" friend over a $2.99 pair of jeans? Please return them, no questions asked. And remember, negative feedback means negative response.
I'm not so much concerned over price as I am getting in trouble with eBay. I will refund the jeans, but I also want to know the rules. I'm looking through and finding nothing much.
Also, when selling on eBay, do a lot of people ensure a bit of extra cash in the pocket with the flat-rate shipping? Do you think that she'd refund any of that?
