    Default good body scrub?

i need a good suggestion for a body scrub. i love using them, and my favorite was the jessica simpson sugar scrub, which they dont make anymore. i bought one by philosophy at sephora this weekend but didnt realize youre supposed to use it when youre dry, before you get in the shower. and it doesnt work very well if you try to use it when youre wet (i tried haha)! i dont really like that, i like using it in the shower when it's all steamy and hot and stuff!

    so, any ones you like?

I go to TJMaxx and buy them from time to time. Much cheaper, and usually expensive, yet unknown brands. I've gotten sugar and salt scrubs for like >$10 Most are even pleasantly scented too.

People equate sexy with promiscuous. They think that because I'm shaped this way, I must be scandalous - like running around and bringing men into my hotel room. But it's just the opposite.

I use Epsom salt & olive oil together since I hate using sugar for scrubs, apply with a brush for good measure.... You can also rub lemon halves on your elbows to exfoliate elbow skin.

I love St ives Apricot. I use it on my face and arms(it drasitically reduced the bumps I get on my upper arms). I use the one for blemishes even though i'm not prone to breakouts..the salicylic acid helps to exfoliate. Just moisturize WELL afterwards.

This site (Yummy Body Scrub Recipes) was great...
I love the idea of making my own body scrub with oil, brown sugar and coffee grounds...yummy smelling, soft skin and less cellulite(fromteh caffiene). I'm totally doing this...I dont see on there how long it keeps though...any idea?

how come you don't like the sugar? I love the sugar/olive oil combo! But then again I've never tried using salt. Agreed with the lemon halves....works SUPERB for ashy elbows!

I sometimes pick up scrubs at the Maxx too like CK. It's almost like being in a friggin candy store!

I just use sugar, olive or coconut oil, and a few drops of essential oil--make any scent you like.

I like the ones from Bath and Body works and I also buy them from Tj Maxx/Ross/Marshalls.

I'm used to having ant infestations in the house (they looove sugar residue) & I prefer to use sugar for baking & cooking...Epsom salt also "draws" impurities out (the oil might impede that somewhat, but it's better than nothing)

I do pick up bath & body items at TJ Maxx, Big Lots! & Ross Outlet, but you never know what they'll have from week to week...So using home made recipes is something you can fall back on.

Victorias Secret sugar scrub is pretty good...I have the strawberries and champagne scented one, and my boyfriend always gushes about my soft skin.

It's just under $10, but usually they have the buy 3 for $24 deals

HA! I totally do that, too! And I use the medicated one as well. I used to use the regular one (since childhood, actually, my mother always had a pot of it in the shower).. but about a month ago I started using the medicated one.. and although it doesn't smell as nice, I LOVE how well it works!!

P.S. Britt, way to go on an awesome thread!! I wanted to try a new body scrub soon...

ME 3 lol..When I was about 12, we went to visit my aunt. She had St.Ives (also in the pot) on her bathroom counter. When I was able to afford my own I bought some. I too now only use the Medicated one. I used to keep it in my shower, I've been forgetting to, so I haven't been exfoliating my face.

A fourth vote for medicated St. Ives...

I also really like Aveda's body polish. It's fine-grained, but thick, so it really sloughs everything off.
