Tonight, not more than 15 minutes ago, I had a couple of customers in the club that were clapping loudly and cheering for every girl that went on stage. Customers with life, compared to the typical golf clap men that come around every single day of our lives. They never said anything mean, they just clapped and cheered enthusiastically, without a hint of sarcasm. Two guys here to have some fun.
Suddenly, one of the dancers gets up during her part of the rotation and tells them "Shoosh, this is a gentleman's club." First off, I thought she was kidding, so I got on the mic and said "It's a party club, too." Giggles and cheers.
Next thing I know, the dancer gets off stage after her set, and confronts me in the DJ booth. "Why did you undermine me?" (at this point, I'm angry, so I have to paraphrase what she said) Those guys are loud and obnoxious (they were loud, but nothing obnoxious was said). They should sit quietly (no, they shouldn't, I ask the crowd to 'make noise' for every dancer). They weren't tipping (well, prior to her little outburst, they were).
Rant over, but does it really bother entertainers when the crowd actually does cheer? Was I really out of line for chewing her out?
P.S.- I honestly hope I posted on the right forum... (Crow don't kill me if I didn't).
