Default Putting yeast in your cat food....?

I'm NOT planning on doing this before anyone scolds me for posting this...

I knew these people who had a cat and it was sooooo fat! I mean the cat was huge!!! They said it was so big because they sprinkled yeast on the cat food and it makes them big. How harmful is that to the cat??

Ugh. Why would you DO that? Yeast is a filler and it means the cat fills up on unhealthy fake foods and doesn't eat any of the nutrients he needs. It's very fucking harmful.

Yea I asked them if it was hurting the cat and they're like "Ohhh no not at all!" but I knew it had to have been hurting the poor thing.

Was it Brewers Yeast or yeast as in bread making? Brewers Yeast is actually fine and many people use it to ward off fleas. And it has also been said the brewer's yeast will stimulate the immune system. If thats what it was, I doubt that is what was making the cat fat and/or sick....
