i disagree......

... what?? are you serious?? how can you say that the rest of the worlds' women "want to be strippers???" umm, honestly i thought this was a troll post.
most, especially "non-western" women wouldn't even consider this an option, much less WANT to be strippers.
are you actually referring to a particular age group? or is this just the strangest generalization i've ever seen, especially coming from someone who usually has a lot of valid insight....

well no it's not a joke. My dance manager said it to us girls one night that in her 9 years of dancing she learned that there were two kinds of women strippers and wannabe strippers. I dont think she meant it literally as in non-strippers really want to be strippers, more of a "they wish they could do it" or "wish they had the nerve to do it".
I think many women look down on strippers yet love the allure of being able to dance sexy for a man and wish they had those skills. I don't think it has anything to do with wishing to be a stripper rather than wishing to be able to dance sexy at home.

thank-you. I have realised I should have worded the question a bit differently![]()

I still think it's a ridiculous proposal, sorry...
We DO NOT have a monopoly on sexuality, sensuality, or dancing beautifully for men.
Women have been doing this, very successfully, for hundreds of years... almost every culture has some ritualistic type of sensual/seductive dance.
And they don't have to be/WAnT to be strippers. In terms of some of the women custies that come w/ their BF's, or the Paris Hilton youth culture that oooooozes some misguided "sexuality," then perhaps yes- a teenybopper stripper movement. But for the real world... hell no.
I disagree.
Thank god I'm a stripper, because once upon a time I was a regular girl who had no idea I'd be one or any desire to be, and now finally, I can fit in, definitely had a hard time before.

Disagree. You can never describe an entire gender in terms of two categories, particularly if they're narrow categories. Before I personally met some strippers (and eventually started stripping myself under their influence), I'd never given stripping a second thought. Never even set foot into a strip club- there was just no interest there.

Disagree, I dont think all women have an interest in being strippers.

strangey enough I agree I have always thought this. It dose not mean the wanna to realy be strippes but they are intruqued if not the stigma would not be there. I personnly think everyone women should experince for just one night.
I disagree. Some girls I know think it's degrating, some think its empowering but most havent thought about it at all. Now I understand where you're coming from with the non strippers wishing they had the allure and sex appleal that comes with the title "stripper" but they wouldnt actually want to do this job. And they can learn to be/move sexy for their man, w/o being a stripper. I dont think everyone can do this job because of the emotional and physical toll it takes on you.
a little off topic but how do you post poles?
Your dance manager is nuts. That is such a ridiculous statement. And I agree with Embyr's comments - stripping isn't sexuality personified or anything, it's a job. So it makes as much sense to me as saying there are men who want to be firemen and men who ARE firemen. I actually think dancing naked in front of strangers would be like a living nightmare for lots of women, like up there with public speaking as far as phobias.
I'm confused, but the Chewbacca Truffle Shuffle cleared it up. - Emily
My friend has a similar theory - all women secretly want to be strippers, and all men secretly want to be ninjas.
I disagreed. Some women you didn't include in your theory:
- women who have no interest whatsoever in becoming strippers.
-women who think it's morally wrong.

And then theres women who just don't give a shit.
i think its a lighthearted statement i don't think its ment to be a comment on the mental state of women.

Lol I though the OP meant 2 kinds of strippers. The real strippers and the 'wanna bes' who just stop in to get some extra cash, don't bother to try to learn a few things, wear their regular underwear etc then get onstage.
Women of color:
Shake your ass and preserve your heritage.
Bang those fucking drums.
Do it for the present and future generations.
Have fun and stick it to the man at the same time. (bad-dominicana)

^^I thought that too until OP explained the convo w/ the mananger.

i know plenty of women who have no desire to be a stripper. actualy, neither do i most of the time![]()
not in tampa anyway.
Thoroughly disagree. If the idea behind it is that everyone, male and female, enjoys being thought of as attractive, and feels more empowered when they feel attractive, then I might be persuaded.
But then you could just as well say they secretly "want" to be actresses, models, beauty queens, porn stars . . . Even that is arguable - a fantasy doesn't necessarily mean that you TRULY want to actually get what you occasionally, casually, wish for.

Disagree. I love strippers, and watching them do their thing. But I am a flamenco dancer, and to me, that is just as sexy as stripping.
