I'm sooooo over the politics that are involved in stripclubs. I knew when I started out there were politics involved, however until last night, I really had no idea just how much politics there is. Last night at our club we have basically a feature performance that's put on once a year and it's for the girls that work in our club only. Our club never has features so this is the closest thing they do once per year. I was in it along with 8 other girls. Now, I think all the girls did a great job, I didn't see them perform last night because I was focusing on what I had to do and didn't want to be distracted.
What totally blew me away was the judging factor that went on on who placed. They did it 1st through 4th place. 3rd and 4th place deserved it for sure, but 2nd and 1st place, I was so blown away! The girl who took 2nd fell on head (she was trying to do a back bend, fell on her head, tried to twice and fell on her head) and she didn't remove her bottoms! It's a requirement to be fully nude by the end of the routine, since she messed up she was out of time and didn't remove her bottoms.
The girl who took first place her routine was very very boring (according to what a lot of people were saying and she didn't even stay for the entire rehearsal). I heard from people that worked at the club running this thing that she wasn't practicing or putting forth the effort, just basically whatever. When I saw her do her thing at rehearsal she looked lost and obviously looked unprepared, I could tell she hadn't put much work into it.
I feel like saying "why even have a show, why not just pick your favorite girls and just give them the prize money and not even have a competition". That's basically how it was. I know for a fact that I nailed that routine of mine, I worked my ass off and nailed it. There's another girl who I know also got totally screwed over. Our club doesn't have a pole so she brought in her own personal pole and did a fantastic performance and her theme was so cool and original.
I've really learned last night that it obviously has nothing to do with talent, nothing to do with creativity & originally. It's all about who's whose favorite and who's "on the list". WTF even have a competition, ya know?
I'm not being conceited or anything like that, I just know for a fact that I did an awesome performance and that I at least deserved to place. I had so many people coming up to me telling me what an awesome job I did and they couldn't believe the results, and it wasn't just my friends, it was people that I didn't even know who they were.
Just going to chalk this up as another lesson learned the hard way. It wasn't even so much as the time that I put into bothers me, it's how much money this thing cost me that I didn't make any of it back and that I didn't get the recognition that I know I deserved.
I have to say for all you feature performers, I can only imagine the anger and frustration you've felt when you know your show was awesome and you know you did better than someone else who's show messed up and they won and you didn't.
Thanks for listening!

They do have definite favorites though, and who gets set up with spendy VIP guys in multi-hour rooms by the hosts every night? Yep, you guessed it. But I love that, because it only makes me more determined to become a top earner ON MY OWN. It fires me up and gets me in full hustle mode when I see certain girls basically being handed hundreds of dollars every night and spending half their nights sipping champagne on comfy couches with a guy massaging their shoulders. It brings out my competitive side, and makes me even more thirsty for $$...I want the thrill of being able to say I'm earning just as much if not more, and I'm doing it DESPITE their favoritism and politics.
Because there's not much, if anything, you can do to change their behaviour...but if you can react to it in a way that gets you going and making more money, you win.
