Default So I Really Want To Dance!

I love to dance. It's my passion, really... but I'm too afraid to try out. I have a pretty face (so I've been told), but my body isn't the greatest. I've had two kids, the youngest only a year old. Due to complications with my first though, I gained tons of weight and ended up with stretch marks all over and loose skin on my stomach. I'm gonna' post a couple pictures, and then, if anyone could give me their opinion, I'd be forver grateful! I don't have a recent frontal pic, but I did include my most recent facial with my new haircut. I don't have on much make-up, so I'm not looking my best, but you get the idea. Thanks!

I know a girl with a body very similar to yours who dances. Every club has dif standards, you'll probably be fine. Do you work out and eat well?

you have a belly like i used to have. i would suggest you to lose 10 pounds, just so the club won't bitch. i got away with it bc i have 40D boobs. i was your size just about and i lost 20, and i have 10 to go. but really, 10 should do you well.

and i also think that you should dye your hair a darker brown and add reddish toned lowlights.

i didn't mean for any of that to sounds mean, but i was being honest.

You're very cute, in my opinion. Can't see stretch marks in the pic, but you might want to wear a cincher while dancing. The more white-collar fancy clubs probably wouldn't hire you until you lose some weight, but they're picky about dancing skills too, so you should probably look into starting out at a working-class club. They tend to like thicker, rounder women and you can learn how to dance and hustle while exercising and toning up. Then later you can move up to a "high-class" club if you want, or stay in a more laid-back environment.

Since you are actually interested in becoming a dancer, you need to be reading the Newbie Thread first. Also, please read the above link.

My dye job had faded a lot since last fall. I look better in darker hair, so, yeah, I agree with whoever said that. I had darker lowlights to make it appear even darker than it was.

I have a slow thyroid and I haven't lost the 20 pounds I gained before I was diagnosed. I definitely need to lose it. I was wondering if I'd get hired right now without losing it. It's a goal of mine though. I'm just getting over some bouts of depression and confidence issues, so I'm working on it...

I used to be an average D cup. I've shrunken to a full C, small D, depending on the band size (34/36D, 38C)

I agree with Yekh- start out dancing at a lower tier club to gain experience and lose just a bit of weight. Once you start, losing weight will be easy.

I just wanted to say though, I've seen bigger girls dance, and I don't think you're big, you're curvy and sexy.

We can't say for sure, but clubs in different locations have different standards.

You look fine though. And you will lose and tone up as you work. I think your confidence might be the biggest issue, since you said you are too scared to try it out.

LOL sike, sorry about that. I have my moments when I do respond when people post in the wrong place. Majority of the time I just ignore it. But, for the past couple days, I've been just into pointing people in the right direction.

Go to different clubs in your area and see what the girls look like. Some clubs you'll see mostly thin girls, maybe some with a belly pooch or some junk in the trunk, other clubs will have a few fuller-figured gals.

I think your hair would look good straightened, or maybe a little longer and styled wavy. And you probably wouldn't need to lose much weight, just tone up. But, yeah, I bet you could get hired now at certain clubs.
