I've come a long way since I believed in anything, and I've come half way around the world.

Where you come from is gone.
Where you thought you were going to was never there,
and where you are, ain't no good unless you can get away from it.

ALWAYS get prenatal testing of some sort. I'm all for natural childbirth, but some things are better to be prevented and dealt with.

That is sad. At first I was disturbed and then I realized "Oh shit, that's a real baby...". All kids deserve love. Unfortunate, but still a little kiddy.

They usually die within hours. Can't be hugged or held and it's really sad to get attached by holding when you can break off it's skin and you know it'll die.

That poor child. I saw a special on the health channel once about a similar child and he's lived to 19, they told htemom he would not make it but the poor baby had surgeries and to this day he must place all these creams and lotions and gauze on his skin and she is a single mom and it's so hard but he's so smart and sweet.

I hope this baby gets the medical help he need cause it's so sad.

    Agreed.

Though I'm sure that wasn't an option for the mom in that country. So sad.

actually, with drugs, many are living into childhood and teens and a few even into adulthood! although, that's not to say that that baby had access to them.

i was just reading up on it in wikipedia..

go there and click on some of the the links at the bottom. theres some intersted pictures and stories.

it's so very sad. they have to be in pain with their skin so tight.

Why would someone put this on YouTube and put as the description "Gross Alien Baby"??? That's terrible and insensitive, it's turned into a circus show..

It pisses me off that people marvel about how these babies are surviving, yet they don't give a shit about the quality of life. Many of these kids don't escape death unscathed. It's constant maintenance, expensive, often painful, and a strain on everybody. A lot of parents aren't prepared for the lifelong battle. There's tons of resources on helping ICU babies survive, but little on what happens after the immediate crisis is gone.

I saw the show on the health channel. The doctors removed the second head and let that twin die. I'm pretty sure the complete twin survived okay.

No, the surviving twin died of infection. However, it's so cool that the head could smile on its own. I wonder what its capacity could have had.
