    Default fell off the pole!!!

A couple nights ago, and I was soooo embarrassed. At least 5 feet off the ground too, head first. Managed to spill a drink too and got bitched at for not getting all the ice up off the corner of the stage.

luckily it was a really slow period, and no one was at the rack at the time, which is why I was trying out a crazy new move. But then this guy immediately comes up and sits at the rack, so I have to get up and try and twirl my newly wounded ass around the stage. Maybe he was trying to be nice, I don't know. Anyway, I was hoping some of you guys would have similar stories to share, so i won't feel so bad. Any chance?

In 2000, I fell 6 feet down on my neck after sliding on cream some girl left on the pole! I fractured 2 vertabre (intra-green fracture..on the inside of the vertabre)

Felt like my head was in a fish bowl!! It happened on my first song of 4. I finished my show crawling on the floor, cause I could not stand!

After my show, the DJ called the ambulance and sent me to the hospital for xrays!

On a bright note...I made $400 in sympathy tips!!

Falling off the pole...luckily not yet. But!!!

One club where I worked there was the main stage with a very narrow catwalk runway attached and a pole at the end. I was new there and didn't want to seem out of place so I stepped on to the runway part, looked straight ahead and started walking. Wouldn't ya know it I walked right off the runway and toppled into the tables on the sides. Boy was I embarrased

I fell years ago... about 6 -6 1/2 feet off the ground.

This is why I dont do pole tricks anymore.

I fall off almost nightly, lol. I'm always trying out new tricks. In fact, we used to have a practice pole, but I fell on my head so many times that the managers took it away. Happens to the best of us.

I had no clue what I had actually done until i went for xrays. It wasnt like I actually "Broke" my neck...just green fractures to the inside of the vertabre and some brusing on my chest where by chin hit it!

They told me I was lucky I fell the way I did...it could have been worse!

I have fallen may of times. I have popped out 5 ribs ( all at the same time if you were wondering) a few concussions. Twisted ankles, banged up knees, bruises. Now I have decided that doing pole tricks when I am tired just is not safe I don't do pole tricks when I have been drinking either.

Didn't happen to me, but I saw it happen to another girl... Well, kind of.

While I was having a chat with a customer at the bar, there was a newbie who was dancing on stage. She was the wildchild sort of girl, a bit off her face, dances on stage like she's in a hip-hop club, doesn't really give a damn about what everyone says or thinks.

Halfway through our conversation, a loud THUD suddenly came from the stage. I looked over my shoulder and saw the girl lying in a foetal position at the base of the pole. After a few seconds of laying still, she pulled herself up while cradling the back of her head, so I assumed that's where she hit herself.

There were no guys sitting at the tiprail either, but there were still a couple of guys around who definitely saw it from afar. That I'm sure of because gales of male laughter broke out right after the girl fell, poor girl. Needless to say, she's no longer a dancer at my club.

I'm surprised that was enough to make her quit. At least no one laughed when I fell. In fact, I got some sympathy tips.

How have I never heard this story before? Holy shit Alena!

I was doing a new trick tonight, I can't remember the name, a basic split grip invert with one leg down....when I was coming down, my bottom foot kept sliding and I rammed my face into my arm. It hurt, but everyone was too drunk to notice. I have never had a major fall...knock on wood.

Sunnie...not really something I go around telling everyone!!! "I fell on my head" is not something an instructor is willing to disclose!!

One thing it did teach me was how to assess moves to promote safety...you hear me do it all the time in class!! LOL...where's the egg!!!

Was it the "Hero" or the "Side V"?? You have me curious now...but I will find out in class today!!!

I've fallen once or twice but I'm a sucker for new tricks. Never hurt myself badly. My ego was bruised for weeks though. lol. It happens to everybody so don't worry.

The strange thing is, it didn't hurt at the time. I'd only had a couple drinks all night, so I thought it was really strange when I got up barely feeling anything. But now, I'm REALLY f-ed up. My upper back is killing me, right between the shoulder blades. I called my mom whos a nurse, and she said I might have compacted my vertebrae together. EEk! I don't know what I'm going to do. I haven't worked in a week and I'm going to need to start making money again soon. I keep waiting for it to get better, but it just gets worse every day. I might have to pay for a chiropractor out of pocket, since I know going through my insurance would take about a month (you have to see a regular physician who then refers you, and that always takes a huge amount of time since they don't have enough specialists). God, this sucks.
