I've had a basic account with GoDaddy which hasn't been used for six months. Finally have an idea as to what to do, but not sure if I want to use the GoDaddy servers-getting too many emails from them about purchasing more "bells and whistles" upgrades much too often, and it will be necessary to register a different domanin name.
I also want to keep the page somewhere around 20-50 kilobytes, so only text with a simple background.
No email address or contact information will be provided, as it isn't necessary to the purpose of the page.
One question, though, is if a certain activity starts at 2:00 pm on Sunday, is that 7:00 am in Sydney, Australia? And 10:00 pm in the U.K., etc.?
The site isn't to sell any service or product, but rather to ask for approximately three minutes of people's time on Sunday (or Monday) once each month, which might be more difficult than selling a product or service.
More research has to be done anyway, as to whether a small, but important amount of content is in the public domain or copyrighted by a particular organization. It's probably available if you provide a link to the organization but I still have to send them an email to find out.
The site really wouldn't need to have the content change once the files are uploaded, but otoh, most sites receive more hits if the content changes at least every now and then.
Last question, what service do you need to purchase from the site provider so you can tell how many distinct hits the site receives eacg day, and how much of your bandwidth has been consumed that day? Thanks!
