    Default for the obscure lovers

Okay so I'm listening to some rather new stuff again.

But I'd like to re thrown in ( if that's is a term )

    Chromeo

    Patrick Wolf

Soko * songs to download - I'll kill her, and take my heart. *

    Wreckless Eric

    Sneaky Sound System

    Bird and the Bee

    Princess Superstar

    Adult

    Mother mother

    We smoke fags

    Yo Majesty

    The Scanners

    Katy Perry

    Stefy

    Cazwell

    Dragonette

Some of this is Indie rock but I think none of these bands are signed. I know soko isn't. and I heart her

I love obscure stuff, but I'm confused--some of these are obviously titles of songs, and some are the artists, but which are by whom?

Soko does 'Take My Heart', I can figure that out, lol, so I'll go look to see if I can find it.

I re edited it, Soko was the only one that i had to be specific on songs about because, there are a few other similar artists namesake wise floating around. She only has 5 songs out. If you can find her Dandy cowboys you are lucky. Super hard shit to find.

It's good to see some Wreckless Eric fans. He's got a lot of older stuff out there that's not too hard to track down. I've heard some ADULT. and liked what I've heard. They fit right in with the early eighties kick I've been on lately. Just bought several OMD cd's. I love them. Here's a few more things that I've found:

    The National - "Boxer"
Throbbing Gristle - "The Endless Not"
    Mammatus - "The Coast Explodes"
Summer afternoon - Summer afternoon... the two most beautiful words in the English language. Henry James

Yah wreckless Eric makes me fucking happy. An ex of mine listens to him and sent the song in a link you can guess which one lol, and said it would make me desire love and life everyday .

    And corny enough it does.

ID LOVE to see some punk band cover Veronica. Fuck that song has such good lyrics. but not any mo cheese mo band either.

Tart, is it "Someone Must Have Nailed Us Together?" I love that song. It reminds me of an old and still dear friend.

    I like this thread already.

I once told a manager that I would love to go an entire shift without playing a single song that anyone had ever heard of before, lol. Fortunately, in spite of some rather serious shortcomings in his personality, he had enough imagination to actually like this idea, instead of being baffled like most moronic manager types would be.

I get so sick of playing shit that everyone in the club has heard 8-10 times that day on the radio, in the other club they just left, on MTV, etc., etc. Of course, we SCDJs pretty much have to do it regardless, depending on the club and the dancers' imagination level. Just continuing to spew out pap for the masses, like that fucking "Smack That" song which I can no longer bear to play, just to give one noxious example...

So please, keep the suggestions coming!

I dunno I constantly am bored and doing NOTHING. So I go on myspace ..search through different genres and look mostly at unsigned or Indie labeled stuff and then check out their music. If I like it I download it.

i saw chromeo perform at an art exhibit once, a few months after i discovered them. they rule! i used to cruise around town in my old BMW gettin' DOWN. everyone always asks me who they are because they're so deliciously infectious. they did some really good work with DJ Mehdi too, btw.

Here's a good one. If you like music that mixes up jazz, hip-hop, Brazilian, electro, blues, and some silky smooth r n'b, then you'll love "Orange" by Juba Dance. He's a Chicago guy that's now living in Rio. It's perfect for a warm spring day.
