Angry dress i bought, girl thinks i stole

2 weeks ago, I found a dress on ebay. I thought one of the girls had it, so instead of buying it, I asked if I could borrow it. She told me that she didn't have one in pink and didn't remember ever having one in that color. I could've sworn she was the one who had one, but I decided to just get online and buy it.

    Long story short.....

I wore it to work last night. So why do her and her friend come up to me, while her friend compliments me on how nice it looks, she asks if she can see it. So of course, I let her. They both sit there and talk about how much it looks like the dress she used to have. Basically implying that it was hers. She went over every inch of that dress, and hands it back, so I figured everything was fine. So then why later in the VIP are this girl and another of her friend staring and talking about me? Later in the dressing room, I overheard her talking to the first friend about how she knows it's her dress.

So, should I just try to dig up my ebay reciept if I can find it? I could print it off, and just confront her about it at work.

Or should i let it blow over, as I hate confrontation, but I also don't want everyone thinking I'm a thief.

    What do you girls think?

Print the receipt and show it to her. I know you shouldn't have to, but it nips this shit in the bud and she no longer has any ammo to use against you to start drama.

That's what I was thinking. I just needed somebody to tell me that as I just don't like confrontation at all. But you're right, it'll ward off extra drama which is always better. Thanks.

I agree with Corsica. I absolutely HATE confrontation but I'd rather prove her wrong than have everyone thinking I'm a theif. Also, it just sucks to have beef with anyone you work with. I've noticed too that the girls at work who everyone say are theives-whether it's true or not are usually gone before too long.

As Indianapolis is a small city, drama can really be bad at work. It's worse than high school sometimes. So thanks for the motivation.

Just let it blow over. They probably won't be reasonable even if you take them the receipt.

It sucks that you may have to prove yourself to these chics, but it's better than letting them spread rumors that you're a thief. I'd print my ebay receipt AND the auction page showing the pic of the dress, and tape the pages on the mirror in the dressing room with a little note in marker saying "see, I BOUGHT it" written in nice big letters. Hell, I might even post 2 or 3 copies to make sure the right little girls notice.

Be sure and mark or cut out anything showing your real name and address.

In case these girls want to go to management and say you stole the dress, I would keep a copy of the receipt in your work purse.

If it's the two girls I think it is, You are going to have to show them the reciept. I know how that club is and I know politically where these two girls stand.

For the rest of SW I'll fill you in. These 2 girls have been there a number of years however are the top money earners blah blah ( typical fiesty asshole shit ) but one is dating the bartender and it's a small staff and very close as far as believing and standing guard over who's dating who.

Basically kylie if she doesn't show this receipt will be more than likely fired. That's how they work there. THose girls will find a way

Oh hell yeah I'd print the reciept and the page shoeing the pic of the dress in question. Why let them get away with talking smack about you?

Yep. I showed the reciept and she wants a copy, cause she honestly does think it may be hers. It wasn't new, so it's a possiblility. She identified stuff on it, like where it was altered, bleach spot, etc......... But I need to take all of my info off the paper first, cause I don't care who it is, they don't need my info. Not that I think it'll do much good. I don't think she'll be able to track the seller from ebay. Plus, they had an out-of-state address listed. I don't know. I'm so over this drama.

She's just trying to claim all this shit now to save face, since she made such a big deal and you brought proof you bought it. Only way to shut her up is to show the proof to everyone in the club. Dressing room mirror is great for that

Just post copies with your identifying info removed on the dressing room mirror like I said. I'd do it on a night she isn't working so all the other girls could see before she gets the chance to take it down

if she wants it, give it to her, sans the identifying information (although, why does she want one? Like, what will having a copy tell her?). Tell her that you will be happy to refer her by email to the ebay seller and whatever comments you left each other.

Don't make a big thing. We all know that girls steal. If you lost an outfit and then 2 weeks later someone had bought a used one exactly like it, you'd think it was yours too.

If it works the way Tart is saying I'd make the copy for her sans your info.

And of course she could point out the details of it if you showed it to her and she's looked it over.

If her having a copy of the receipt isn't enough tell her she can buy it from you and to consider her money a finders fee.

I agree about posting it on the dressing room mirror with a note. If she wants it, she can take it off the mirror after everyone else has seen it.

That's a good point about that being a way to give it to her. Cause even though this girl keeps to herself, I'm sure she's told a few people. I'll give her the copy, but I still don't see what it will do. What's she gonna do, notify ebay? Say, a girl stole my dress and sold it on ebay......... yeah, somebody will care I'm sure..... but I think making it public on my part is kinda a good idea.

She is just being a bitch exhibiting typical bitch behavior. If you do anything else, it will show yr a pushover. I've learned this shit the hard way. I would have just taped a copy of the receipt to her locker and been like "love, Kylie" and left it at that...good luck, tho I wouldn't be surprised if she bothers you in the future...

Tell her to fuck off. You've provided your proof, now she needs to go away.

print out a screen shot of the ebay sale, take it to kinkos, have them enlarge it poster size, and tack it up in your dressing room.

She's just trying to dick you around at this point. Other people in the thread have said that she's a powerful girl in the club. She might feel challenged by you.

Maybe you make more money than her. Maybe you don't, but maybe she thinks you do.

Maybe she feels that management are starting to love you too, and her position as top dog is challenged.

Maybe you're prettier. Or maybe she just has a body insecurity, like for example you might have a beautiful ass, and she feels that hers is inferior.

My point is, she's in a high position, and realizes that the bigger they are, the harder they fall. Prove yourself as far as you can. I'd advise that you pre-emtively show the managers both the dress and the print-out of your reciept. That way they hear your side of the story. Don't let the head bitch fuck you up.

Did the ebay seller live in your city? I mean really, what are the chances of all this happening? Her losing a dress, you finding it on ebay, and just so happened to work at her club. It's all too ironic. This dress better be cute!!! What does it look like anyway?
