Default Is this the work of a stalker?

Awhile back, I gave a customer my email. I was fairly new, and I thought email was safe. The guy seemed fine at the time, but months later he showed his true colors and turned out to be a freak-May have stolen the owners keys (he had to get the locks changed the next day). The last time I saw him he was being 86'd for (supposedly) threatening a girl at the rack, and pulling it out.

So today, I can't log into my email. Tried it a million times so I know I didn't spell it wrong, caps aren't on. All other yahoo emails work. Now, I'm always worried that I'm a little paranoid, since I was stalked by a child predator when I was a girl. But, is this likely the work of a stalker hacking my account? Can he trace my home address from it? What do I do now?

Seriously, I'd contact the email company for lost/stolen password and reset it, it should only take a few minutes. I seriously doubt it's related to the guy you gave the addresss to. If he really wanted to hurt you or scare you and was savvy enough to figure out your password, he'd probably be lurking somewhere closer to you and you'd know it. I think it's just coincidence. Also, you might want to change your home address on your email registry so that it has a different address than where you rest your head at night, it's not like yahoo will send you anything in VIA US Mail.

    The story about the keys-

The owner bartends there sometime (he recently bought the club with his fiance, a former dancer. So, he works there too).

Here's what I overheard his saying about the keys. It was closing time, and the creep in question (who was a regular, and I guess the owner felt comfortable with him) was cleaning up, and set his keys on the counter. Not on the part of the bar where the custies drink, the other side, near the taps. Something distracted him and he walked to the end of the bar. When he turned around to come back the guy was gone- and so were the keys.

weird. I wouldn't worry about the guy getting into your email though. seriously that shit happens to me too , but it usually ends up .. fixing itself whatever the issue maybe.

Yeah, I wouldn't really worry about the email situation being caused by a stalker. Just do all the procedures to reset the password, etc. and it should be ok.

Chances are it's some geek who did it. If your email had your real info, then by all means contact the provider and get it reset.

Personally I'd recommend you get a Hotmail account with your stage name and give that out to customers, and only put in *minimal* information.

FYI - do NOT put your real DOB or YOB in your profile. With a name, city/state. and DOB you can pull most people's credit reports. Then they know where you live.
