omg there are so many.... have you tried a search yet??? I have a cute army outfit and i dance to "all good soldiers" by bad religion. love it.![]()
let the body's hit the floor is a huge hit with soilders i don't about with the custume though.
Are you looking for songs to go with a costume or just songs that military guys like? In my experience, military guys love AC/DC, Billy Idol, and other straight up rock & roll.

Track #12 on Mesmerize by System of a Down... Soldier Side. I dance to that a lot too... Loooooooove that song.
Basically theme songs for an army girl outfit i purchased today *weeeeeee* Even if its something that sounds war-ish or army-ish![]()
Im so freekin lost i searched the forums but all i came up with was really angry music or old school stuff. I'd like something relatively upbeat but it seems thats a bit too much to ask of our performance artists. lol.
Maybe some techno or rnb ... ? I dunno suggest me![]()

^^Wow, I would most definitely NOT dance to that. The lyrics to "Soldier Side" are depressing as hell, and come from a pretty anti-war place. It IS a great song, yeah, but I dunno. It would seem to me like you were trying to make some sort of statement. I suppose if that's your intent, groovy. Just my .02

"Army of me" Bjork and maybe that "le disco" song

... hmm... we have a really smart, eclectic mix of guys coming into the club during dayshift... i dunno, it usually works effectively for me. my club is kinda strange... some of the girls CAN get away with more "depressing" stuff and garner a fair amount of appreciation for it, as long as it's tasteful. Like radiohead, Elliot Smith, SOAD's slower stuff, etc... i Love my club.
but you're very right- i WOULDn't play this "for the troops." ha.

Bonus. I meant not so much that it's eclectic, but that if played while a girl was wearing an army outfit, it would appear to me to be an anti-war political statement. But maybe that's just me. Hey, I have a girl who dances to "There Is A Light That Never Goes Out" by The Smiths, and that's depressing as hell but she makes it work. If it works for you, then keep doing it.
I didn't notice the last line where you said you wouldn't play it for the troops. Weird. I swear it wasn't there a moment ago. I'm going insane.

Destiny's Child - "Soldier" (featuring Lil Wayne & TI)

so you still didn't tell us if this is pro- or anti... because there was an anti-war music thread a while ago and some really good suggestions were made on that. Or just stuff to go with a costume??
If it's an older crowd, I'd try A Perfect Circle's cover of John Lennon's Imagine... i always get tipped mucho for that. You'll get both Tool/APC fans and the old guys tippin.' that was a major protest song during vietnam... it got banned!![]()
i'd be terrible at helping you out about a "for the troops" set... umm, kid rock? i dunno.i'm kind of a ... lefty...
It's brief, and it's fracking hilarious if you can pull it off. Granted, I did it wrapped in an American flag (not in camouflage) over 4th of July weekend, but "America, Fuck Yeah" from Team America got a great reaction. Combination of "Fuck yeah!"s being chanted (fists in air, even) plus laughs = great intro.
"Before I conceived you, I wanted you. Before you were born, I loved you. Before you were here an hour, I would die for you. This is the miracle of life." -- Maureen Hawkins
"I just can't get over how much babies cry. I really had no idea what I was getting into. To tell you the truth, I thought it would be more like getting a cat." -- Anne Lamott

The best song I have heard along these lines is called 'Terminate', by Over Thee Brink. It's off this old prototechno compilation CD, called Jack the Tab.
It may or may not be anti-war, but no one will be able to figure out whether it is, and it has one of the heaviest bass lines I have heard, with a guy going "Ready...Aim...Fire!" and machine guns going off, then a guy who repeats throughout the song "This is a fucking war!", etc.
I will upload it on Soulseek for you if you are interested, I doubt you'll find it otherwise as it's from about 1990 and it wasn't mainstream at all, lol.
As far as the political content of music played in stripclubs, I have worked in clubs where it didn't matter a bit (most of mine have been this way), and clubs where a little more caution is in order (my present club is this way--lots of military customers and a politically conservative owner).
If you can get away with it, and put on a good show, use it--that's my feeling.
A riveting stage performance will tend to make the guys forget whatever controversial lyrics might be going on, if they were even inclined to be vigilant about this in the first place--and usually they aren't. I have played "America Number One" by Consolidated many times, in many clubs, and no one has ever said a single word to me about it, even though it's the most communist song imaginable, lol. But it has such a heavy bass line, no one tends to listen to what the guy is saying--plus I suspect if they do listen all they hear is "America number one...", and think it means what it sounds like on the surface.
Ditto with the David Bowie song "I'm Afraid of Americans" (by far the best version of this is the one with NIN). Sounds like it's supposed to make everyone tremble with fear at the thought of the righteous wrath of the USA, but I think it has an entirely different meaning, lol. The one line that's really dangerous for conservative political types in the audience is "...Johnny wants to suck on a cock." But again, no one has ever said a word to me about playing it, in the clubs I have used it (all but my present club).

"Terminate" by Over Thee Brink, etc... That whole cd, I know it's by Jack The Tab. That's nothing but an alias for Psychic TV, aka Genesis P-Orridge, aka Throbbing Gristle, aka basically any band who tries to claim they're "Industrial". See also: Coil. Chris & Cosey.
waffles are just pancakes with little squares on them.
I always thought it was "Johnny wants to suck on a Coke."
maybe there is a remix out there of Rammstein's Links 234 that is a little more dance-friendly. also for some reason i want to say there is a Snog song that might be appropriate but i really can't think of it for the life of me.

OMG..i've totally done that!!
I play wierd stuff when I'm bored...I've also played 'now your a man" by DVDA and Spinal Tap songs(esp "gimme some money")!
It really does depend on the message you're trying to get across...good anti war stuff:Bombs Over Baghdad by Outkast....BYOB(bring your own bombs) by system of a down
And of course...classic anti war(though nobody thinks of it that way since most dont listen to the lyrics) Born in the USA Bruce Springsteen

Haha I knew you would have heard of it, Mr.C--and yep it's Psychic TV, as listed on many of the other tracks of that double CD. There's about 3-4 other good ones on the double CD, but I have seen a single CD version that has most of them as well
But who cares what the artist is called on which track? This song would definitely work for an army costume theme.

If I were doing an army set, I'd use WWII era music. Its noncontraversial, easy to dance to and it would stand out a mile!
Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy by the Andrews Sisters
G.I. Jive by Louis Jordan (or Johnny Mercer)
Rum and Coca Cola by the Andrews Sisters
I'm sure you can find covers and mixes of this stuff to bring the tempo up and modernize it a bit.
You could also do late 60's early 70's stuff, like War by Edwin Star (I think) and Fortunate Son by CCR. That would go over well with the older guys.
It seems the modern stuff is either depressing, political or super-violent. I'd go with older stuff to keep it patron-friendly.

^ "War" and "Fortunate Son" are both extremely political as well. We've had the discussion before that most guys don't listen to lyrics at the club, but those are both quite serious anti-war tunes.
Djoser is making me listen to Psychic TV now. Dammit.
waffles are just pancakes with little squares on them.

Once again you are making me laugh loud enough to piss off everyone in this huge old house...
But who cares, they'll get over it. I like it when this happens.
So let me get this straight, Throbbing Gristle is the same as Psychic TV? I should probably go get some, then, I kinda like some of the Psychic TV stuff. Some of it is out there and just too weird for me. But some of it rocks.
