    Phoenix Cocktailing

So the deal is........I want to start dancing at some point, but I'm not quite ready for that (need to get in better shape, learn some moves, etc.) So I was thinking about cocktailing until then. I would think that would get me used to the environment and I could get some help from the ladies at the club. Problem is.......I've worked in a restaurant but never cocktailed. I was a hostess supervisor for a year, which is def not the same thing. I was hoping someone would have some pointers for me on where to look in the Phoenix/Scottsdale area that would give a cute girl a chance. I work super hard and I'm a bubbly flirt so I think I would fall right into the grove of it. So let me know, I'm all ears.

You just start going to clubs and ask to apply for a waitress job. Same way you would at restaurants. If they have openings and want you, they'll hire you. I wonder what you think is so different about getting a waitress job at a stripclub? We don't have any secret entry codes or anything I'm just kidding btw - it's not as big a deal as you seem to think. Just go ask for a job. I'd stick to the bigger clubs to make most money as a waitress- Christie's Phx or Tempe, Skin, Bourbon Street, HiLiter...

You mean you don't have secret codes? I'm so disappointed.

I've been thinking about cocktailing at a SC as well, mostly to easy myself into the idea of dancing. So I get you, OP.

Any tips other than 'get off your ass and do it'?

Not sure what tips you'd want/need really. It's a waitress job at a bar. Not much to getting the job, just go in looking sexy and ask to apply. Bring ID and any relevant certifications you may have (many areas require some kind of gov't certifications to waitress in bars/restaurants). If you have experience, be ready to name it.

Other than that, they really just want a good-looking chic who can count money and sell drinks.

Lol I was wondering about this same thing .....do you have to be certified in Phoenix to work as a waitress...and can you use your stage name ?? Because I have never worked as a waitress a day in my life lol...I want to get in shape as you suggest and also get employed at a smaller club. I figure I can kill two birds with one stone if I can waitress at one of the bigger clubs also. Does Hi-liter need any waitresses?? If not im going to check out penthouse which I think has just been changed to Le girls west.

I believe you have to have an alcohol cert. Not sure where to get that, but a typical scenario I've heard in other states is that you take a one day class, pass a test, pay the fee and get the cert - issued by the state. Usually these have to be renewed each year. But I don't know the laws on that in AZ so you'd be better off asking for this type of information from the source:

Arizona Department of Liquor License Control
    Telephone: (602) 542-5141
