i love the world you live in where 25k a year is peanuts when whole families often try to get by on two such salaries per year and count themselves quite well off.
you don't currently have skills worth more than 30k per year or so. and since you don't even want to work a full year part time or otherwise, you might as well not rush to get hired in a dayjob.
you might look into doing something with a temp agency - they generally pay a little bit higher for the same skill set, since you never know where you'll be working... assigments can be anywhere from a half day to a few weeks, and if you find that a particular jobsite just doesn't work for you, you always have the option of telling the agency that you don't want to go back there
