    Thumbs up Favorite Break-Up Movies

    Hey girls,

I am currently going through a break-up right now. Nothing outrageous.... we weren't married, no kids, just your usual "sometimes I'm perfectly fine, othertimes it's gutwrenching to think about us" break up.

It is, however, over for good this time and I've been doing my usual break-up routine: working more, taking an extra class at school, becoming involved in more volunteer organizations, journaling, hanging out with my girlfriends and family, reading, and, one of my all-time favorites, watching movies! Actually, right now I'm watching Bridget Jones' Diary II. Very cheesy-VERY funny!

So my question for you all is, what is your favorite break-up movie(s)? I don't want anything to make me completely suicidal....usually I like comedies or really kick-ass female characters. Also, I like to watch documentaries or films based on true events....kind of puts everything into perspective for me.

So, shoot! Which movie should I watch?

"Committed" with Heather Graham and Luke Wilson. A cute-as-pie movie about a f*cked up case of spousal abandonment.

I love cheesy 80s movies like Better Off Dead, or pretty movies like Memoirs of a Geisha, when I need a distraction like that.

Whatever you do - don't watch "Eternal sunshine of the spotless mind" if you're feeling down about a break-up.

Made me bawl my eyes out for a long time.

    ...just a warning

Whenever me and my friends were going through our break-ups, we would always watch "Waiting to Exhale" (Whitney Houston and Angela Basset) together. Great venting, crying, laughing, and friendship movie. Just a classic chick flick for all of us ladies that are going through relationship difficulties. The soundtrack is excellent therapy, too.

    Thelma and Louise.

Or anything by David Lynch. You'll be too confused to obsess about your breakup.
