    Default Girly-girl or tomboy??

Just wondering how many of us are girly girls or tomboys and if dancing has turned any of the tomboys into girly girls. What makes you a girly-girl or a tomboy? If you are both, which aspects do you identify with?

Me - I've been a girly-girl from day 1. Loved my barbie dolls and dance classes, have read every fashion magazine I could get my hands on since the age of 14, and like to think about my look in complete detail, including hair, makeup, clothes, accessories, and shoes. I make an effort to look as close to perfect as possible when I'm going to work or going out. If I'm bumming around, I don't really bother with makeup, but still try to look cute. I love pink and wear a tiara on my birthday

Totally in the middle. I can dress up and do all the girl stuff, but I'd much rather be hanging around with guys watching sports and playing video games. I'm an only child, and I like to tell people that I got the best of everything from my mom and my dad.

Dad- Sports (particularly racing), rock music, love for cars, etc.
Mom- Pop music (well, pop in the 80's...ha!), make-up and girly clothes, and all that stuff. My mom's kind of the tomboy out of her sisters, though.

Complete girly-girl. Pink and purple are my favorite colors. I'm very into makeup, fashion, and hair. I have to get my nails/toes done every two weeks and I constantly change my hair color. I'm a big time shopping addict/impulsive buyer, but that's a whole 'nother story!

I was actually pretty tom-boyish when I was younger. I wore long, baggy clothes, didn't give a crap about makeup/hair until I was about 14, and hung out with the boys. I turned very girly around 15, and there's been no turning back.

I still have mainly tom-boy leanings and tendancies however thanks to this line of work it has allowed me to become more 'female' as such. I'm no girly girl by a LONG shot and hope I never will be as it just isn't me.

So I voted somewhere in the middle

    Girly girl!
As much as I love to play video games and hang out with the boys, but damnit, I do it in heels and full on makeup.

I've got more balls than most men I meet. I was a geek-tomboy as a kid, which means I'm also smarter than most men I meet too. LOL

    I'm in the middle too.

I'm a competitive fighter...but I go in the ring with full makeup and a french manicure. Go to pro-wrestling events with my hair curled and stillettos on.

I voted "somewhere in the middle".
Most of my friends are male and Ive been told Im one of the boys more than once, lol. The female friends I do have tend not to be girly girls either.
However Ive also been told "Ha youre such a girl sometimes" so I must be in touch with my female side somewhat (-:

In the middle. I can goeither way. I can get dressed to kill, look completly smokin hot...then go out later in the same night and play in the mud. I was a tomboy growing up...but I have grown to love looking good when the time is right.

I picked somewhere in the middle. I used to be a complete tomboy for the longest time, the big reason being that I had grown up with just one brother as a child. I always preferred to hang out with "my boys" to just bullshit, drink beer, watch movies, and play video games. It was also very common for me to be the only female hanging out with a big group of guys. Hell, I even played the guitar and rode crotchrockets with my "biker buddies!" I only had a few girlfriends who were also tomboys, because to me most girls were just "prissy wimps" who did nothing but gossip about clothes, hair, makeup, and guys, while I was actually out with them all the time learning about male behavior...Girls just got on my freakin' nerves and they were always in competition mode while I was just laidback...except for when I was with the boys, of course.

Dancing has definitely balanced me out, though. I learned how to finally walk in high heels taller than most women would ever wear (didn't ever wear them until becoming a stripper). I love to shop, am addicted to makeup and perfume, and can talk for hours and hours about beauty stuff. Shit, I even ended up getting a job at Victoria's Secret. I'm still a tomboy at heart...but have learned a lot about myself and females in general. Most of the really, REALLY girly- girls still get on my nerves, but now I'm a little bit more open minded and patient with them. At least I try to be...LOL.

I'm totally a girly girl, although I prefer 'glamour girl'! The only time I don't wear high heels is if I'm going to the gym hehe. Nails, hair, makeup always has to be done.

In the middle. I was 100% tomboy until I was 13... then I was 70% until I was 17ish.... now I'm a nice half and half. I'm a complete lady-femme-girly-woman when I need to be, or when I wanna... otherwise, I act/dress/talk like I should have a wang.

See this would never be me, ever. I'm like, "you know how to change a tire?? In stilettos no less??"

I have to applaud that! I rolled my eyes when my ex wanted to teach me how. Shit, my dad won't even change a tire in fear of getting his suit dirty, that's what AAA is for!

I used to work on cars at MIDAS shops all over my old neighborhood, with full makeup on

^^That is so hawt. Why don't I ever see pretty girls when I'm forced to go into those sort of stores? I might actually look forward to it!

I did see a hot blond at Home Depot once, I was impressed and turned on.

I couldn't pick one ! I fluctuate from one or the other but, never ever in the middle.
I have a dominate personality for the most part which causes me to be a bit of a no nonsense tomboy. Then one the other hand I'm a high maintenance diva. Go figure..

I change tires and work on my own van (hell, I live in it) and don't own a single pair of heels except the stripper ones. But I love my long lacey skirts. And I'm a stripper.

Um, I don't know if you know this or not, but that doesn't mean you're stuck between girlie girl and tomboy. It means you're Texan.

I'm very much in the middle.

Pink is my fave colour and I love shopping and fashion and gossip and makeup.

I also love watching football and playing violent video games.

As a kid I would always be wearing pigtails and pink ribbons in my long blonde hair, and playing in the mud with Transformers and Ninja Turtles. I never even had one doll. I had some girlie stuff like Care Bears and My Little Pony, but I also had heaps of Lego and Transformers and Ghostbusters.

    Middle me...

I did (and still do) ballet but I could also dam up the creek with the best of them. I think when you grow up close to nature it's hard to be a girly girl. Nature doesn't like it. Looking perfect to me is when you roll out of the surf just the way God made you...

I find a lot of what society 'gives' women to allegedly keep us amused is really insulting. I believe in makeup to a certain extent, but it's much better going to work and having someone put it on you for money than having to do it yourself (even though i do... and i KNOW it looks better). Sometimes I berate myself for not being one of those 'can't go out without eyeshadow and straightening' types, but mostly I do not have the spare time it takes to do that every single day - and I'll be fucked if I'm getting up at 5.30 to do it!!! *hurrumph*

I don't find it therapeutic to girlify myself, I'm not obsessive about hair and nails. I like wearing heels, but I like wearing sneakers. Those things for separating toes to do nail polish hurt. LatinaRose would die if she saw my toenails right now. They are just NOT right.

    I like boys.

Being a tomboy of sorts is the best way to get really close to the boys all the time. (besides stripping... coz i don't wanna be close to those ones!)

I learnt they love me anyway... poor fools, whether my shit is together or not.

    bwa ha ha...
