    Default Good Canadian food?

I just got back from Toronto and I have to say I didn't have the best dining experiences. I went to a place called "Overeasy" which is like a little diner that has breakfast all day and lunch and it was by far the best place I ate. Then I went to a place close to the hotel called "Boston's Pizza" and they don't put any marinara on their pasta or lasagna. Any recommendations for good eats there that aren't too expensive? Btw, I also like Tim Hortons, I ate there last time I was in Montreal.

I freaking love Sassafraz and Dimi's in Yorkville, also a really great sushi place I can't remember the name of. Canoe in the financial district is oh so good if you wanna spend some money. Those restaurants are all a lot cheaper during lunch/happy hour. Sushi D on College St is my fave inexpensive sushi place. Pita pit is really good AND cheap.

And yes, Tim Hortons f--king rocks, esp their sandwiches late night!

I'm sure I'll think of more when I go back.

I'll be there all summer, going to Vegas in August for a birthday party, but not staying long. I want to enjoy the nice weather there all summer long, not sweat my ass off in the desert!

What are the good beaches up there?? We should go, I miss the beach so much! Although Rehab is a close second.

How far is Wasaga? Are there any good hotel pools like Vegas? I'm picturing something rooftop a la Sex and the City, but I may be reaching here.

We'll definitely see each other at some point, we have to!

I've come a long way since I believed in anything, and I've come half way around the world.

Where you come from is gone.
Where you thought you were going to was never there,
and where you are, ain't no good unless you can get away from it.

Jack Astor's is good, esp when you spell it right! Sorry for correcting you Cally, but I can't let greenidlady go around thinking Canadians have a restaurant with "ass" in the name!

If you want to spend some money you must check out Susur.

For a good steak I'd suggest Harbour sixty, Ruth Christ or La Castille (in Mississauga)

I love Milestones for casual dining

If you like sushi, check out Sushi on Bloor (very affordable and good) and Kaji (a must IMO)

If you like Indian, check out The Host Restaurant mmmmmmmmmm

    For Italian, check out Posticino

When I go to T.O. I am addicted to the Vietnamese place "Ginger's". I fuckin' love that place!

I haven't eaten here yet, but hear it has great food....Philthy McNasty's.I think it is located on Spadina or right near there.

    This thread's making me hungry!

There used to be this wicked pizza place called Wise Guys Pizza. The best pizza I've ever had. I drove past it today and it's gone

Anyone know of a really good pizza spot?

I recommend Terroni for great Southern Italian food. They have excellent, authentic pizza! There are four locations around the city. One on Queen St. You can also find great pizza on College St. in Little Italy. I like Giovanna Trattoria.

I love Ginger as well! So cheap, fast and yummy. Their chicken noodle soup is what I eat after having a hangover.

http://www.martiniboys.com/Toronto is an awesome website for restaurant reviews(even categorized by area), and info on other stuff happening in Toronto. Toronto's cultural diversity gives us an amazing selection of restaurants to choose from. I have at least a few different types of food per week, all at very reasonable prices. This past week I had Korean, Japanese(usually a couple times per week), and Italian... as well as brunch on the weekend.

Too bad about Sassafraz. They had a great burger, and the best lychee martinis! Can't wait til they open up again.
