It also puts you in a hardcore sink-or-swim mentality that you aren't going to get at a normal 9-5 job. Sure, there you can get fired or have external penalties... but in this job to succeed (and to not piss away cash flow) you have to learn goal setting and teach yourself limits.

I also love waking up in the afternoon and feeling like I have a lot of potential with what I'm going to do with the first five or six hours of my day.

The time, the money, along with feeling like a really hot chick.
God, grant me the senility, to forget the people I never liked anyway,
The good fortune to run into the ones that I do,
And the eyesight to know the difference.

Not being bossed around....in my old jobs as a waitress or whatever in resturants, the manager was always breathing down my neck telling me everything i do is wrong! GRRR!

not having to wait every two weeks to get some damn money!!

realizing you get paid more in ONE night of working than your minium wage friend does in 2 weeks. and for doing alot less...

guys give you money sometimes for no reason(or just cuz they think youre pretty)

getting paid to drink tequilla (haha)

fun shoes n outfits to wear

    working whenever you want

getting instant ego boosts at work from men (no matter how ugly or fat u feel..there will be men telling you that u have the most perfect body)

but id say mostly because of FREEDOM!!!

Money. Flexibility. Helped me become more assertive and aggressive. Get to meet crazy, fun, interesting people. Surrounded by hot naked women. Get to dress up and take hours getting ready and have people appreciate it (sometimes)!

-Having a flexible schedule- no penalty if you don't feel like going in to work-- which is a good thing- having to go into work when you're not emotionally there is stressful and results in unhappy employees.... being able to choose when you go in based on your emotional/physical state is very healthy

-Because of it's "taboo" nature, the only corporate thing about SC's is alcohol sales, which as a dancer, we're really not involved in unless a customer wants to buy us a drink. We don't get taxes taken out of our pay, and we don't get ripped off by big companies or restaurants that pay us a cheap hourly wage and take a percentage of our tips. We're independent contractors... i love that

-You can work as intensely or as laid back as you want. you can either be walking around constantly talking up the customers asking for dances/vips, or you can sit and chat with one customer, hang out in the dressing room and just do your stage shows. Your participation is up to you.

-Your salary is also up to you. There is no limit to how much money you can make, it's only limited by your perseverance and determination which makes you more disciplined in the long run. You can work one night a week and not try at all and make an extra 100 or so for spending money, or you can work 6 nights a week and hustle and make $3000.. theoretically of course.

-The job requirements promote a healthy lifestyle:
    -staying in shape
    -looking your best
    -dancing for 6 hours= workout!!
    -staying drug-free in the workplace
-leaving your emotional dramas at the door
-offering an escape from everyday life

-The hours-- working night shifts you don't have to get into work mode until 6-7 (to get ready and drive there by and then getting off at 3 gives you an excuse to sleep a good 8 hours, wake up at 11 and then have the whole day to do whatever you want.

-Being in the SC offers plenty of experience and for those who are writers... you understand that fulfilling the craving for experience is very important and offers lots of creative expression. Being a college student in the social sciences.. it's also interesting to observe the unique environment the SC offers and how people interact within it.

-Being able to dress up and wear cute things that you never thought you'd ever wear in public

-Actually being able to walk in 7 inch heels

-Fulfilling a social need, getting a good work out, making lots of money and having fun all in one night
