    Default mouth ulcer....OUCH!

so, I've got this 1/4" long ulcer on the inside of my mouth, and it is PAINFUL! I can't eat without wanting to because it feels like I'm pouring salt in an open wound. It stings and burns and I'm going insane.

Maybe I should have left it alone, but I poked at it with a (sterilized!) needle, thinking that if I drained it it would hurt less, but if anything it hurts MORE now.

What can I do to get rid of it quicker and/or make it less painful? This really fucking hurts!

I feel your pain...those are the worst things ever and they hurt like hell! Go to Walgreen's or CVS and buy some "Anbesol." It's a novocaine for the mouth that works wonders. Use a q-tip and gently dab it on the sore. You'll be able to eat right afterwards, too. I keep a bottle of Anbesol with q-tips on my nightstand, so if it hurts in the middle of the night, it is right there for me to reapply. Also...gargling with warm saltwater before bedtime will help kill the bacteria in the sore and help make it go away faster.

Canker sores blow. I used to get them BADLY to the point where I wouldn't brush my teeth it hurt so bad. Get some ambesol, or some numbing crap at a drugstore. It helps.

I saw a commercial for these little like I dunno scabby type things that go over the sores but I thinkthey have to be given by a perscription. I would try those out along with the ambesol if I were you.
