That was... heartbreaking.
What's even more heart-breaking are some of the videos that are "related" to this one.
(just click to donate FREE food to those in need...REALLY!)
Holy crap. That struck a chord somewhere.
Could you put a warning for the video? Watching it might be a trigger for people with eating disorders.
THANK YOU!!!
Some of us are in pretty fragile states of recovery (like me); I didn't look at the slideshow, but I'm betting it's got some triggering material. Please, in the future, everyone be kind enough to put up a lil' disclaimer. It would be much appreciated.....

This was a great video for a girl who tells the hard truth about ana.

you can only survive by clinging onto trees
that's your flaw
put down some roots so you can stand on your own

I couldn't get through it. Not because it was triggering or sad or anything, but because it was so trite.

Seriously. Please- edit- post.
I'm almost inclined to ask you why you bothered to post this.
What was the point? To prove "anorexics are sad? anorexics desire thinness? anorexics have skinny role models?" umm... duh? I'm sorry, but I gained nothing at all from watching this.![]()
I don't get it. Apart from looking at most of those girls on that video and thinking, "Gosh, I wish I was that thin" (With the exception of the severely anorexic ones), it didn't really trigger much emotion with me at all.

i want to know who sings that song. it made my baby naut jump around like crazy in there for the whole 3 something minutes.
as for the video... i don't get it. if it upsets people maybe it should be taken off?

Indeed. If you take away the cheesy captions, it'd be totally thinspo.

wow...
I kind of liked it. I agree that it could be a trigger for some.. but whoever created it hit the nail on the head with the emotional battle that anorexia is. All-consuming.

I found it pretty sad, reminds me of what I used to be like. And I wasn't even *that* thin. A few years back I might've even found that triggering, good thing I've been living healthily for the past year soon. Before that I used to gain weight eating junk and then diet it off eating nothing... Now I'm actually considering going to the gym and all to get a healthy muscular frame rather than just thin.

For me this vid was a reminder of the damage I could have went through if I continued down the road I was headed. I can say it at least helped me remember how far I've come and be thankful to have it behind me.....forever.

Agreed. This is common with pro-ana/thinspo things as well...they put disclaimers but it is obviously triggering and intended to be. But then they say...well, we put a warning! Bleh.
Putting "this is bad and will kill you!" does not negate the fact that it is, in fact, thinspiration and triggering...

it makes me sad that MY generation seems to think that if you've size 5 or over, you're FAT! I'm a happy size 9-13... and i look healthy and curvaceously sexy!!!!
but it took me SO long to understand that i could have meat on me, and be attractive.

i also think that if you are NATURALLY stick thin, you shouldn't feel ugly because of what you are.
but no one, NO one is naturally skinny to where your BACK BONES show so horriffically. that is either drug or disorder triggered.
I don't think it needs a disclaimer... I figured out what it was just by the title and the OP. (I didn't watch the slideshow.)
If you think school is hard, try being stupid.
It's a sad reminder of what a lot of us have or are going through.... and how so many things around us are pressuring us to be unhealthy.![]()

I'm 10 years out of ana, and the video immediately made want to lose 10 lbs. I've negotiated my brain for me to only lose 5, lol. I haven't thought about my weight in a decade. So strange that youtube could trigger a memory. Thank god that I don't have a scale in my house.
Any presentation about eating disorders with pictures and numbers (weight, BMI, % body fat) could be triggers. All those tv movies with Meredith Baxter Birney and Tracy Gold were nothing more than motivation.
if you know you need to beware of triggers, the THREAD TITLE seems like warming enought!!!!!!!
