Default Blender + plane = ok?

Im going to see my bff tomorrow for her graduation from Chico state. Im so excited but I know you cant wrap gifts before the plane. So I bought her a blender for her new place. She cant afford one because shes been busting her butt at school and now doing forever hours for an unpaid internship.

So yea, can I bring my blender for her on the plane? Does anyone know? Ive read the TSA guidelines....if its in there show me I might have missed it.

I think you'd be OK with it if its in your luggage, NOT in any carry ons or whatnot...

I'm not sure though-if you're concerned, try calling the airlines to ask...

Yeah.. chuck it in your luggage. Pretty much anything is okay in luggage but not in carry-on, unless properly validated. It has removeable blades, so I'd assume carryon would be a huuuge nono.

Don't forget to check the luggage weight restrictions, they are not as good as they once were. In the US you should be ok.

If it is ok weight/size then I would say put it with your checked baggage.

Yeah, it should be fine in your checked luggage, the luggage you check at the ticket counter during check-in.

^ Per suitcase. You get two. A blender is what, three?

It's definitely ok in checked baggage. Hell, you can carry a "meat cleaver" in checked baggage.

However, I think it might be ok in carry-on as well. For one, they encourage you to keep your fragile electronics with you. I don't know that a blender qualifies but I am confident of the checked baggage handlers to break it unless you have it wrapped in cotton and sunshine. For another, it isn't like all blades are prohibited..just those that can clearly be dangerous or a weapon. I mean, I take my cigar cutters ALL the time and they never blink. And I think I could fashion a weapon from a cigar cutter easier than I could the twisted blades of a blender attachment. *shrug*

Yeah checked baggage is fine. Hell...me and hubby brught a gun to Philly(it was a new one and he wanted to show it to his uncle..and he has a permit to carry here which is reciprical with Philadelphia). We showed it to the check in security. opened it to prove it wasnt loaded(although we did find out that up to 11 pounds of ammo is allowed) and back into checked luggage it went.

If a gun is allowed..I'm thinking a blender is fine.

You may be able to carry on with you, but take the blades out and put in checked luggage. I'm not sure about that though

I cant believe they allow your cigar cutters Genwar...they confiscate my lip gloss..but cigar cutters are ok? thats crap man....pure crap!

You'd definately have to check it... and make sure to pack it really well! You don't want it to break when they're throwing shit around!

Well we did try bringing a Cuisinart to Korea but that bloody Singapore airlines luggage restrictions suck major ass.

If the liquid container is glass I'd try and bring that as hand luggage in bubble wrap. The rest can go in the checked bags, but with all this nutty shit for our security you might not even be able to do that.
