Angry On the rag for 3 months

    So.

I've been on my motherfucking period since late Feb/early March.

I had a shitty exp. with depo provera (the shot) a while back but the convenience of it all tempted me again in January. I asked the ladies in the clinic if it would suck again and they said it miiiight suck but probably not, and that if it did I could just get it again right after and I should be right fixed.

Well, I got it in Jan. again and lo and FUCKING behold, my period started late February and it's STILL going.

It comes in little heavy/light/watery/clumpy phases, but it's presence is never forgotten.

    THIS SUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    Isn't that actually normal?
I mean, it shouldn't be heavy, more like light flow or spotting.

Sometimes Depo can cause bleeding for the first 3 months. After the next shot, the bleeding shoudl stop.

i've heard of this happening A LOT with depovera.

I have a friend who bled for six months.
I don't advice using this form of hormonal birth control, too many women have bad reactions to it. Usually that reaction is bleeding for ungodly lenghts of time. Plus, because the hormones are with you for 3 months (before you get another shot) you may end up feeling nauseous for a longer period of time than you might be willing to take on.

My God, you're bleeding out all of your iron. Please ensure you supplement and eat high iron foods like turkey and dried figs, or you could end up anaemic.

That happened to me too, but it unfortunately stayed in my system for 18 months. Yes, that's 18 months of bleeding/spotting every day. I had 2 rounds because they thought it would go away after the second shot. The doc told me that this happens to less than 1/2 percent of women that get the shot, lucky me. They also said thinner women keep it in their system longer for some reason. So now, on to the cure. There are certain types of hormone supplements (like premarin) and certain bc pills that reverse the effect of the depo somehow. None of those worked for me but I took Damiana root and that stopped it. Ask your doc about this so you can get some relief!

wow. That's like, the longest Depo is known to stay in the system, 18 months.
Actually, they say it can take UP TO 18 months for the Depo to clear. I'm sorry that happened to you.

I had a wonderful time on Depo. No abnormal bleeding, it worked liek a charm. No bad side effects. ( except for weight gain. About 30 lbs.) As soon as I came off depo, I dropped it all off. Of course..That was also the same time I started dancing. SO Im sure that helped. I worked 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, doing stage 1-2 times an hour, 3 songs each time. I would have lost weight anyway....

But I think Depo is the Devil. The calcuim loss it causes.....the horrible side effects women experience....I dont think Depo is a good choice anymore. there are bettr options now.
