nah, I like my depo.. Once every three months I will get maybe a three day period if that.. works for me!
Please don't lick me, it tickles..
Nothing special about this pill, its just marketing. Lately, a lot of girls want to stop their periods, and take their regular pills continuously to do that. SO they just made a new pill with no placebo's and said its the best new thing!! no periods!
But all they did was take out the week of sugar pills.

No. Menstruation cleans you out. The vagina is an incubator, and harbors all sorts of crap. Blood is rich in macrophages, and cleans pathogenic microbes. I wouldn't use it unless I had endometriosis or polycystic ovaries or something that would make periods worse than having no periods.
Another reason I'd never use it is because me body doesn't fall for that trick. I tried skipping over blank pills, and I tried it with the Nuvaring too. Rather than bleed once a month, I breakthrough bleed all month long because my body tries to get the crap out.

Yeah, I am all about not having to deal with periods, but I wouldn't want to be the first wave of 'actual' people to take a new pill on the market. It says that almost half the people in the drug study dropped out due to side effects. That's alot of people to drop out of a drug study.
I'll wait and see how it's doing a year from it's intro to the market.

I read about it, and supposedly only 60% of women in the study actually stopped mentruating altogether. The rest dropped out because of spotting-and it said that you were basically trading in scheduled bleeding for unscheduled bleeding.
As much as periods suck, I see it as part of one of my body's natural processes and wouldn't want to stop it.
As someone else said, all birth control pills have the same capabilities to stop periods. Seasonale, for instance, wa sintended to be a no-period pill, but focus group studies showed that women were afraid to have no periods at all, so they added in a reduced number of periods to make women more comfortable.
One major plus is insurance. If you take other birth control pills constantly (skipping placebo pills), most insurance companies will not cover the extra packs needed. In this birth control, that is not a factor.

I put it on Sunday night, and by Monday morning, I was violently nauseous. I had to almost literally crawl across campus to turn in a paper, constantly stopping to puke up acid or dry heave because there was nothing left. I was sick for the rest of the day and emotional for a few days after I took it off. To add salt to the wound, I had an abusive boyfriend who called me stupid when I started crying in front of him because I was so miserable.
Unless things can't get much worse, don't ever be one to try a new drug. Remember Thalidomide.

I am the first generation to take a couple of the non-birth control drugs, and they are just now (10 years later) figuring out some of the things they are doing to people long term. Being the first generation of real life guinea pigs can really suck.
I'm all for new drugs and progress, but I'd rather see some long term testing before I start throwing new pills into the little science project they call my body.
I took a continuous cycle of BC for about two years prior to my hysterectomy. My doctor said it was perfectly safe and that there was no physical "need" for the body to have a period, i.e. it doesn't build up or anything and it won't hurt you not to shed it each month.
Check out my new eBay auctions.......
I'm a little scared of completely stopping what's natural. I'll skip my period if I'm going on vacation or any other event where it's convenient to not have it, but I don't want to mess with it too much or too often.
ETA: Did anyone notice this was posted by a guy??

How many of you have tried to slip periods, yet breakthrough bleeding still occurred? My body doesn't get tricked so easily. I'll constantly breakthrough bleed until I let myself menstruate.
Somehow, I think that the success rate will be around 50/50.
no. because all these new FDA approved DRUGS they're making is really just a conspiracy to make us sterile to stop overpopulation and pretty much commit genocide on our gender and generation. ...gardasil anyone??![]()
The first few times I tried I had breakthrough bleeding, but this was when I had been on the pill for less than a year. Now that I've been on it awhile (a LONG while), I can skip it no problem whatsoever, no breakthrough bleeding at all. Also I noticed that if I did happen to bleed a bit, I could wear a tampon for few hours, then it would be gone.
I am soooo over taking hormones. Blech! They ALL make me batshit crazy.
No, thanks. I like my Nuvaring.
I have heard that there is no need for a period because the period you have on the pill isnt a real one anyways..you dont build up the same kind of lining or have the same surges of hormones.
But, i have heard from a lot of docs that birth control hormones can be pretty unhealthy on their own, so i would imagine never taking a break from them would be ok.
I take yasmin now and it made me quesy for a while. However, the weirdest thing happened. It actually mellowed me out. I have no idea why, but i cry a lot less and im so much less emotional on it. Do they put prozac in this stuff?!?!

I like getting my period- it's an important indicator of health, so I'd never deliberately suppress it.
This seems really unnatural to me. Plus, when my period shows, I know I'm not preggers. My period isn't that much of a bother---and I really wonder about the long-term side effects of this.
^I completely agree. I have endometriosis but I still feel like I need to have a period every month to "cleanse" everything out. I did the thing where I took several months of bc pills in a row and felt just awful. It felt like I had pms constantly and my period was coming but I never bled.
Nope...thats scary to me to..im not on birth control or anything so my period lets me know im not preggo also(like someone else said). I dont mind it much. getting cramps sucks but thats only the first day for me.
