Doctors.
My husband said Stock Brokers.
I wonder where I can find this information, I've been searching but no luck.
Dentists have a very high sucide rate, I seem to remember hearing once. Maybe they rank high on addiction, too? And I'd agree that stock brokers are lunatics (the biggest coke fiend I ever met is one--he makes well north of $500K a year).
Anaesthesiologists and actors.
Found this
The highest rate of illicit drug abuse and heavy alcohol use is among 18–25 year olds, males, Caucasian, and those with less than a high school education.
Still searching....
Edit:Alcohol abuse among doctors is common and placing patient's health at risk. This has long been recognised. In 1986 the Royal College ofGeneral Practitioners declared that doctors had three times the rate of alcoholic liver cirrhosis than the general population. A 1985 study found that 12% of male and 45% of female GPs were drinking dangerous amounts of alcohol. In the mid 1980s it was estimated that there were between two and three thousand alcoholic doctors in England and Wales alone.
Although doctors abuse other drugs less often than alcohol, a significant proportion of those abusing alcohol go on to develop a drug habit. In the US, one survey found that half of all alcoholic doctors became addicted to illegal drugs. Another study found that one in fifty anaesthetists were drug addicted.
The latest report by the British Medical Association says that one doctor in fifteen is addicted to either alcohol or drugs. That amounts to more than 7,000 doctors. However the BMA news review recently put the figure at 13,000, more than one doctor in ten. These reports rely on self-assessment questionnaires so the real total is likely to be even higher.
Based on who came to the club all coked up most frequently...
Car salesmen.
I'd also say comedians.
There is an urban legend, recently repeated on Seinfeld, that dentists have the highest suicide rate of any profession. This is false. I recently spoke with a public affairs representative at the American Dental Association. They actually did a study on the subject, and found the rate among dentists is about the same as the population as a whole.

Musicains

Id' say white collar professionals: The higher up the level, the more drug use.
Some Douchebag: "[Pimp C] 12:43 am: its true we got to stick together the black people on SW CK you is teh condoleeza of SW"
Lawyers

my first thought was doctors. i also think these are high:
actors, musicians, artists, politicians
and let's not kid ourselves, (not that we are...but) strippers. of course there are many of us who don't use drugs, but we all know drug addiction is common (on a whole) amongst dancers.
Comedians made me laugh :-D
I was going to say lawyers and musicians, (artists though that sounds a bit steriotypical awww, poor artists, lol) and people in entertainment generally.
I 2nd the white collar thing too.
In Australia drug addiction amongst strippers is uncommon.
anesthesiologists and dentists

interesting. here in the states it's rampant. well, at least i know it is in quite a few states. the club i'm at right now kicks most of the obvious drug addicts out, but the last 4 places i worked either didn't or slacked on it. i'd say at least 1/2 the girls i worked with in the past had a serious drug addiction. the #1 drug addiction i've seen here in florida strip clubs would have to be meth and the #2 would be coke. let's not even talk about alcoholism. at my current club there's only a couple drug addicts who are "under the radar/good at hiding it" ...oh and... a SHITLOAD of girls addicted to diet pills. i don't know what it is about my club particularly, but goddamn. i see diet pills being popped there left and right.
bartenders and/or night club employees
From what I understand those that commit suicide in general are somewhat intelligent

What about Trophy Wifes? They tend to like coke and alcohol.
in my experiance, its been I.T types. all those geeks from school, somehow turned into drug dealers and users... or maybe i just naturally hung with the geeks when i went out partying?
i know the scene back in nz is about 30-40% I.T orientated employees. and from the group i used to do stuff with...all except me...about 25 guys and girls.lol totally coincidental
Professional athletes also, its amazing how guys like Lawrence Taylor could do so much coke and still be a very successfull player.

Cops, esp. alcohol
Doctors, I'd say, basically anyone who can write perscriptions for pills or makes tons of money.

Nurses also often have a high drug abuse rate. The biggest reason for nurses loosing their liscense is through drug abuse.
Also most strip club managers are pretty big coke heads.

i was also going to say trophy wives. Or those sleazy car salesmen or real estate guys that are always asking "do you party?" and trying to pay for their lap dances with coke. It probably is a different profession for each different drug of choice.
