    Default Honesty paid off

The other day at work a nice guy came in, dressed nicely and I started chatting him up. Well, he instantly liked me and took me back for a VIP. Well... he thought the dance ended two songs early and we came out of VIP. The DJ tells me that it was only 4 songs. I could have screwed him out of the last 6 minutes but I thought, it's slow and he's a nice guy. I took him back for two more songs and he appreciated it. He bought 3 more regular dances. Well... now he's a regular. I think he appreciated my honesty and the fact that I didnt act so concerned for his money. He went in today to see me but I wasnt working today, unfortnately, but he's going to go back next time I am working. I gave him my work email so we contact each other via that.

Moral of the story- dont screw over customers just to screw them over!

I'm actually impressed I got a regular so fast... I started working again that same day so I must not be too off my game.

Woohoo! Congrats. Yeah, if a guy isn't a total douche, honesty is always best and will serve you well. However, if he IS a douche...

One night with may All-Time ATF I had purchased a couple hundred worth of dances. I was on the sofa and she leaned over and picked up a wad of cash that had fallen out of my pocket. She handed it to me and said, "you may need this..."

Same thing happenned again a little while later. She handed my money back to me. I looked at her and said "Holy crap! This sofa is full of cash...how about you and I carry it out the back door?"

Anyway, the dances were done and I tipped her nicely. A little while later she came up to me and said the she thought I had been shorted a dance. Fact is, we had kind of lost track. She took me back to VIP for the dance I was owed. Afterward, I gave her a $100 tip.

There are all kinds of people in the world and that is cool. That makes life interesting. But the one constant I appreciate is honesty. I really miss her...she really encouraged my juvenile delinquency...

Good for you! I truly believe that karma is a bitch..and if the guy hasnt done anything do deserve being screwed(and if he has..well thats HIS karma biting him in the ass!) then why be a bitch? Or steal?
I've handed money back when guys overpaid me or dropped money. I have no reason to steal. Most of the time it copmes back to me...either the guy loves that I was honest and tips me well or gets more dances...or another guy will be super great later that night.

I can't tell you how many times I've been honest with customers and they haven't appreciated it! It's mostly been when I'm on stage dancing in our executive room. There's these leather seats near the stage but not at the stage and countless times while I'm up there dancing I've seen guys drop money on the floor or on the seat and start to say something to me, before I can even say anything, they snap back at me, basically treat me like I'm a thieving stripper and once they're done ranting I very nicely say "All I was trying to tell you was you dropped a shit load of money on the floor/seat,etc. and didn't you to lose it or have someone steal it from you" Then they've been "Oh, well thanks, but never still they haven't tipped me" But those really have only been customers sitting and watching, not VIP customers or ones I'm dancing for. VIP customers have always been very appreciative and have tipped me for my honesty and sometimes just said to me "you know since you were honest, just keep all of it or just give me $20 back so I have money for my cab"

I guess it depends on the customer and the interaction you're having. I don't know, maybe the guys sitting near the stage automatically assume I'm demanding money from them before I open my mouth

You know, I think karma is important. For example, when I started dancing, a girl was overpaid for a $20 dance. The BOY (he was still in high school) gave her a $100 instead of a $20. She didnt say anything and the kid didnt notice until later. He was too embarassed to ask for it back.

I told her that she should go offer some dances until it is $100 if she didnt want to give it back but um, no. She said it was his loss.

Well, next day she gives about $60 worth of dances and forgets to collect her money. The guys leaves immediately after the dances and she lost out.

I told her "Maybe it's karma for the money you got the other day."

In the end, she only made an extra $20 from the high school kid and deep down inside, I felt good about it.

As much as I'm all for integrity in this business where there is abundence lack of it especially in re owners and managers....... there is a time and place for it here as well. I don't believe in karma the way everyone here seems to believe in it.

Overall and the majority of the time I do have integrity and am honest. Just there are times when honesty doesn't pay off ... as a few of us have noted.. when the patron and/or customer is not entitled to it.

For instance, if I am doing an $80 dance and the customer pays me with a $100 bill. I will say to him that I will give him the change at the end of the dance... and then at the end of the dance I am dressed... I say to him "let's go to the bar to get you the change I owe you"... more often than not they will allow me to keep the extra $20 as a tip.

It does pay more often than not to be honest as, just like used car salespeople, we aren't regarded (generally speaking) as honest in our dealings. So it is a surprise (a rather plesant one) to alot of people to deal with someone who does have some integrity.
