    Default Candy Store & Centerfold's N. Phoenix

Candy Store- So what are your thoughts? Everytime I drive by The Candy Store it looks pretty busy. BUT I am really not into the idea of giving 5 dollar dances. Do the girls charge more? Is there VIP? I went there once as a customer and dont remember seeing a VIP section.

Centerfold's- I went in once- was too late to audition.. looked kinda slow but well that happens. Did look like a nice club though. Any info?

I've worked at HiLiter EVERY night this last week and I'm so disappointed. Maybe it's all of Phoenix- but it was very slow. And yes- a million girls working.
I may be heading to Rhode Island for a couple months this summer to work at good ol' K2U if business is going to be REALLY SLOW here in Phoenix this summer.

While I'm on the subject- how is Bourbon doing? I only worked there a couple weeks before I got sick (was out of work a couple months) but I did great. They only let me work Sun, Mon, and Tues though LOL I'm not good enough for any other night of the week.

    Any info/thoughts? Thanks so much!!!

The grass isn't greener Centerfolds. If you plan to work days I don't recomend going there with hopes of making more $. But... if you have enough regulars who would travel to the club for you, you'd have it made. I say this because the only girls making any real money there are the ones who are established at the club, who have regulars - especially on Mondays-Thursdays. Their regulars come in, get a few v.i.p. dances, and leave asap. At least thats how it is on day-mid shift. I have no idea what nights are like. For all I know theres more reckless spending party guys then?

It's a GREAT club with gorgeous girls and a nice layout! I really like larger clubs. They also have a NO RAP and minimal r&b policy, which (un-pc to say, but true) seriously helps cut down on the ghetto customer factor. They have high standards of hiring, you won't see obese women or ghetto girls at this place. Theres a lot of REALLY HOT GIRLS at Centerfolds. Like perfect 10 types.

Personally, I paid my major summer bills in advance, so I can afford to take home less (a lot less!) $ right now. And I'd rather do so at a club like Centerfolds than a low class club.

Haven't worked at the Candy Store myself but it's one I want to check out. A few girls who've worked there tell me it's really easy to bank because the $5.00 dances are easily sold in volume....

Ok, let's think about how many dances it would take to "bank" at Candy Store, if all you sell are $5 dances and consider most guys don't tip - because most guys just don't. At $5, you'd have to do 60 dances to make $300, BEFORE fees and tipouts. Your tips might cover your payouts. And that's if you can even do/sell 60 dances in a shift. I dunno about yall but I rather doubt most girls do that much there, and I don't consider $300 "bank" anyway.

I recently checked the place and they do have a VIP, but I saw a sign in the dressing room (on my way to bathroom) saying something about $10 for VIP. I can see how that would help your earnings, but really, most guys were just buying floor dances during the 2 hours I spent there. I didn't see much VIP action, if any. And that was a busy night.

As an example, I worked in Tucson for a couple days when I first moved to Phoenix. It was $5 dances, $10 VIP or $15 CR. I stayed busy all night and left with about $200. When we were paying out at the end, the manager acted shocked at how well I'd done I hightailed it back to Phoenix.

Don't get me wrong; I think it's possible to make ok money at CandyStore because a cheap dance is easy to sell, but you'll work your ass off for it and I don't think it will ever be "bank". It might be a decent option right now, but frankly, I'm thinking they're having the same problems every other club in town has right now - TOO MANY GIRLS AND NOT ENOUGH BUSINESS.

And, you have to consider WHY those girls who USED TO work there (and claim it's so good), no longer work there. If it were that great, they'd still be there.

Good points. To take home $600 you'd have to dance non-stop for what, 7 hours? Which I personally wouldn't mind, but if their business is just as slow it's impossible to do. If $5.00 dances don't draw enough spending customers to do dance after dance for, if it's just as slow as everywhere else, it wouldn't be worth it.

Come to think of it, I remember why one girl told me she no longer works there: The dressing room is connected to the womens bathroom, and theres no lockers and no security cameras. So any girl can walk in and steal shit.

Ok, maybe Candy Store isn't one to check out after all....

That is why I always say Phoenix for the most part is worth after tip outs $70-$300 a day/night. Thats based on 5-6 hour shifts. Good nights are the exception and not the norm. If a dancer can AVERAGE $200-$250 a night in Phoenix, they are doing ok.

At $5 a dance, you will need 10 dances an hour, and a few stage tips to clear $250-$260. If a girl could do that much volume STEADILY they could survive, but that is a good shift. On a slow shift which is more likely to occur now than a busy one, that figure could be cut in half or more.

Christies and Bourbon Street have more lump sum spending opportunities, but those don't happen to every girl on a regular basis. In the summer, Christies's doesn't even stock many premium liquors, so that tells you how the summer is for them.

Hi-Liter has about the best overall volume in town, and that is why so many girls work there. But the volume there won't sustain as many girls as want to dance there.

That's true. I did go to the bathroom and there's only ONE stall that is INSIDE the dressing room. It was just a square room with a counter and mirrors along 3 walls, the DR entrance on one side of the 4th wall and the bathroom on the other. All the girls had all their stuff just piled where ever all over the room. When more than one person has to go, guess what - you've got a line of female customers standing around in your dressing room with nothing to do but stare at you or rifle through your stuff. I dislike even having the ladies bathroom connected to the dressing room, but to have it inside like that, with no lockers and no privacy from gawking female customers.....no thanks!

^^Bourbon street is like that also. The womens bathroom being all the way in the back of the dressing room. It sort of creeped me out when I realized that.

Well, all I know is, it's crappy everywhere. No use roaming around from club to club trying to find "the one" that's got steady traffic. It's not happening. So I'll stay where I'm comfy and just ride out the storm.

A few nights ago, my buddy bailed out of Bombshells and high tailed it back to our beloved CCT (gag) only to find out that the cust/girl count was the same, and the attitude was even worse (princess/ogres).

I swear, this time of year, I always get the line from Finding Nemo stuck in my head.... "Just keep swimming, just keep swimming..."

No, I still have to try the mid-early night shift there. It's farther from me and I shudder to think of driving all the way out there and having a slow night, when I can just drive up the street and have a slow night instead. But I really should give it another shot. I liked the club itself and the friendly vibe it has.

Well, Centerfolds might be a good place - I wouldn't know since I was last there in December. But I did better there in December than at HL because where HL had like 100 girls on night shift a week or two before xmas, CF had maybe 40. They hire fewer girls so it's easier to make money.

They may not be hiring now, but it might be worth a shot to check it out considering how overloaded we are at HL. I would love to go try it out there, but it's just too damn far for me to drive - 45-50 minutes vs 30-35 minutes to HL. CF has a much better VIP setup than HL, and similar customer volume.

I would at least check it out - can't hurt. If they say no, they're likely just capping girls due to slowness, and you can always go back to HL.

Well, that's why I don't live out there. Too far. Where I am now is too far for me too, but if I wanna live with my man, I don't have a choice for now. If I had my preference, I'd live right in the middle of the city. Just not this city LOL

Just to answer your question about Bourbon, I quit dancing recently but a lot of my friends still work there and I know that it is slowing down and there are always tons of girls. The money there is all in VIP....and let's just say that the contact up there is...um...a lot higher than the other clubs in town.

I think that 5 dollar dances are so '94. Last time I was at the Candy Store, I remember thinking that the songs were long too.

Ok, so word is that Candy Store is now getting real picky about hiring- trying to keep down the number of girls and weed out the chewbaccas. You think maybe since they are aiming for a higher quality of girls- they'll raise the 5 dollar dance price??? Or do they just want a club full of hot girls giving 5 dollar dances? lol

Well, I'm guessing they are just trying to raise their image to attract more/better business, now that they can afford to be picky at hiring. This is a perfect opportunity for clubs to do that. I'm gonna say this is probably why other clubs have tightened up on hiring lately. I think it's a good thing.

You're right it is a good thing. Well I'm going to check it out tonight. I never thought I'd end up at Candy Store- BUT I live minutes away from it and I might as well try it out. If it doesnt work out- then Centerfold's, and if that doesnt work out- stick with HiLiter.
I'll update tonight when I get home!

    Candy Store:
    Auditioned.
    Hired.
    Charged 10/song, not 5.
    Did real well.
    Girls complained it was slow.
    I didnt notice.
    Pretty sweet- I'll be back!
