Default Potty training is sooooo funny! (Mostly because I don't have to deal with it!)

I spent the day with some friends yesterday, and they have a 2-year old who is pretty much fully potty trained, but still has to be occasionally reminded and/or coerced. Potty training is hard, and it takes a lot of creativity to work with the kid. Anyhoo, the dad came up with a song that they sing every time he goes to the potty. You know the song "Macho Man" by the Village People? He changed the lyrics around to sing, "Potty potty man, he likes to do his potty in the can." I laughed until I cried.

I showed him this horribly corny Japanese toilet training video. I remember my mom cheering me on while singing and dancing when I was a kid.

LMAO! What a classic song. I had a friend who was an pediatric oncologist at a hospital and she used to change the words to "Party all the Time" by Eddie Murphy to "Potty all the Time" to try and make the situation not so awkward since it wasn't like having mommy or daddy to help them. Those rare occasions when I hear that song I can't stop singing the "new" lyrics.

Haha, that Japanese video is so funny, weve been watching it and laughing over this last weekend as my friends 10 year old cant get over it.
Toilet training (as I skipped the potty) was so easy for my son though, so no need for singing (thank fuck) or being creative (-:

The most impractical potty training method I heard of was a girl wh used to pay her daughter 20 cents to use the potty each time. It worked, but of course she could not get her daughter off the damned thing.

For boys you can put floaty things in the toilet for them to aim at if they do need encouragement. (No need for them to sit down to pee afterall.)

    ^^Ready Aim Fire!
I've come a long way since I believed in anything, and I've come half way around the world.

Where you come from is gone.
Where you thought you were going to was never there,
and where you are, ain't no good unless you can get away from it.

When I was potty training my daughter, I used to sing to her. I can't remember the name of the original song, but I used to sing, "My girl wants to potty all the time, potty all the time, potty all the tiiiime!"

    Kids love that stuff!

My parents made me a little step thing so that I could reach the toilet and I thought I was so grown up and cool for using it so it made it fun.

Another thing is sleeping and babies/toddlers. Until my friends had babies I didn't realise that sleep was soemthing that needed to be learned. I thought babies and toddlers would just sleep when they get tired. But then my friends had kids and I realised how difficult it can be to get a baby/toddler to sleep.
