    Default Birth Control and Lexapro?

Anyone know of any complications of taking BC and any anti anxiety meds? Obviously I will find out from my doc but I'd like to ask in case you guys know? Thanks in advance!

Lexapro is an SSRI, not strickly anxiety (I know I've been on Luvox, Adderall, Prozac, Welbutrin, Klonopin - a strickly anxiety benzodiazepam) - you name it, in addition to studying psychiatry and working at a pharmacy. If you can be specific about the BC you take, that would also help, because they vary GREATLY, also I hope it's not the patch, because lots of complications have arisen from that recently. In addition, do you smoke or have any medical complications?

    Thanks for your reply.
Well I am on Lexapro for panic disorder but I am not on BC yet. I used to be on Aviane (sp?) but havent been on BC in years. I want to get back on it to be period free a couple months at a time.

Unfortunately I DO smoke, but I do plan on cutting out soon. The hubby is kinda getting mad because I promised I'd stop in February. lol I know smoking and BC are a no-no so thats why I'd like to stop. However I am just scared of gaining weight. (lexapro, cutting back on smoking AND BC) yikes

But are they relatively safe to use together, of course, once I quit smoking?
