    Default If you juice fast....

Is it ok to drink teas or have broth as well, or do you have to have strictly juice?
I have failed fasts before because I crave "real food" and I think if I sat down witha bowl of hot broth, and drank it with a spoon, that might cure my urge for real food.

Also, is it ok to take your vitamins? I read somewhere that you should nto take vitamins during a fast.

And...what about an appitite suppressant to help with the hunger pains, woudl that be bad? I have found in the past that water just doesn't help that gnawing, empty pain. And I also found if I try to take the edge off with just eating an apple, that caves me in, and makes the hunger even worse!

I have the Blueberry and Green juce from Bolthouse farms, they are quite tasty. It may help even more to add some extra fiber in with Fibersure....

Yes, you can drink tea and broth. Watch out for ones with lots of sodium, you'll retain water and with as much liquid as you should be drinking, you'll bloat like crazy. Try the organic ones from place like Wild Oats. They're pretty good.

Vitamins might upset your stomache if its empty, so you might want to skip them during a fast.

Yea broth and teas are fine. Broths work better if they are home made though and definitely watch out for the sodium content.

As for vitamins, your electrolytes are what you need to watch for esp potassium. A potassium supplement like K-dor would be too harsh on the stomach but you can purchase an electrolyte powder mix which is specifically for people on fasts... I'll try find ya the link.

In the meantime you can make your own potassium broth using potato skins. I'll search for the recipe and post that for you also.
