Okay... Vista is pissing me off.
A few weeks ago, I started doing video editing in Sony Vegas. Much to my dismay, my computer would completely fall to pieces every time I'd try to do anything involving .AVI files. Folders would crash, programs would freeze, and I'd get this error on the screen reading, "COM Surrogate Has Stopped Working."
I googled it, and discovered that it's quite a common Vista problem. It told me to install a new version of DivX and it should fix it up. So I did, and it did. Problem solved.
Until today.
Now I have a fully functioning version of DivX, and suddenly my computer has started spazzing out when I try to open a folder containing .AVI's. Once again, my COM Surrogate is failing to do its job.
I've googled, and I can't find much else other than "install DivX"... but I already have. Has anyone else had this problem? If so... how on earth did you fix it??![]()
