    Default Canadian Newbie Customer

Ok, I'm a real newbie when it comes to SCs. I've only ever been to 2 in Montreal (which I enjoyed a lot!)

Curiosity has overcome me and I've been browsing SW for a while now, but I have some questions. I've read a lot about etiquette and things that I never knew before I came here and didn't realize that they were common knowledge.

My main question is about watching the stage show. From what I've read, my basic understanding is that if you're looking at the girls, you should be tipping them. So if you're watching the stage show, you should be tipping the stage.

I feel bad now about my Montreal experience, because I honestly didn't know that. I was quite naive and thought that strippers got paid to work (not just tips.) I was there with my fiance and 2 friends. At the first club, we sat 1 table away from the rail and watched the stage show for a while, then got a table dance from one of the girls that we particularily liked. We tipped the table dancer, but didn't tip the stage at all. At the second club we bought a "VIP package" that had us in a big booth-type table a ways back from the stage, but still with a good view. Not a private VIP booth kinda thing. We got a table dance there and tipped that dancer, but again didn't walk up to the stage to tip it every time a new dancer came on.

So I guess to make a short story long: Is it expected to tip every girl that comes on stage while you're watching? Even if you're not sitting at the rail? And since I'm in Canada and our smallest bill is a $5, does that mean that a minimum of $5 should be tipped every time? I'm just curious, because I want to check out a strip club here in NS at some point, but after spending some time browsing SW I'm worried about doing the wrong thing!

    Thanks for your help!

Depends on the club. If its a big club (and more than 1 girl on stage), guys will usually put a dollar infront of them or a stack, and to me that means "Come over". Other men will hold their dollars in their hands and divert eye contact which to me is a "move along" signal.

However, at smaller clubs, you should tip for the show. Especially if its nude!

    Canada is totally different.

Eastern Canada(east of Manitoba) you do not need to tip, no one really does. I mean there are some bars that have the 'ride for 5' but they're mostly southern Ontario. You take $5 and get on stage with the girl.

You CAN tip, if you like a girl you can toss the money on the stage, make sure she sees it though because its sooooooooooooo rare here most girls don't even notice it.

Tipping just isnt a Canadian thing unless your in Alberta, where girls play the loonie game.

Note to self: When in Montreal/Toronto, check out the "Canadian Ballet."

Lest you misunderstand Red - you are still expected to spend. You just don't have to spend it on the stage.

Yes. Though tipping is not common you are still expected to spend and buy dances.

Kay...tipping is NOT Expected or Required....but it is APPRECIATED!!

I worked in Montreal for a few years, rarely were the girls tipped. But that does not mean that is does not happen.

People in Quebec seem shy when it comes to tipping on stage. Some put the bill on the edge of the stage, some will stand at the side of the stage and hold the bill, expecting a girl to take it with body parts other than her hands!

As a feature, I would bring people who tipped on stage with me. Since they were generous enough to show appreciation, I returned the favor...showing my appreciations by giving them a night to remember being on stage or giving them a poster!!

Standard rule....if you enjoyed the show...show your appreciation!!

Ahaha I just realized I implied that you shouldn't tip.

Tipping is greatly appreciated as Alena said but you do need to catch the girls attention when doing it because so many girls are not used to it.

I wish tipping would become more common in Canada... but with the lowest bill being $5 its just not common because people can't afford to tip every girl.

If you see a girl you like go up and tip her. As Alena said just stand at the side of the stage and catch the girls eye then hand her the money either slide it in her gstring or she'll grab it with her boobs or something.

    Enjoy the clubs

Great! Thanks for your help! I don't feel like as much of a heel now!
Is anyone here from Nova Scotia? I'd love to get a local perspective, even though I know that there are VERY few SCs out here (maybe 2 or more?)

My family is from NS...where are you located!!

I think there is only 3-4 clubs in the Atlantic Provinces.

As for the local perspective...same as elsewhere, if you enjoy the show...show appreciation.

The loonie game is an Albertan thing? Wow, I didn't realize that was such a geographically specific practice.

I've always thought it would be a bit annoying to have a bunch of loonies thrown at you, but I guess if you're expecting it to happen, hoping for it to happen, then i guess it's not quite as annoying. One time I went with to a SC with a friend who was, honest to god, throwing quarters and not even when the girl was in front of us, but pretty much across the stage. I felt bad for the poor girl because she was getting quarters hitting her in the back of the head. My friend had never been to a club before and we had to politely tell him that quarters are kind of insulting and that he should wait for the dancer to come over to where we were because nobody likes to get hit in the back of the head by low denomination coins. I think he caught on after we told him that.

My husband told me that here some of the girls play a Loonie game where they'll stick a loonie to their butt-cheek and then guys have to (lightly) toss loonies ot twoonies and try to knock it off. *shrugs*

Again the loonie toss is no painful because you are not tossing them at the girl, your throwing them into a jug or rolled up poster.

As for clubs like the downer, you could check out its a party club with some great stage shows but its a bit of a hike from downtown Toronto. Also check out (the website is super out of date but its a great club) its right downtown with some great looking girls.
